Most of them said, "Star Trek!" or thought it looked very mod (but not "Maude" mod, one clarified). I definitely am giving that mid-60s groovy mod vibe from this ensemble.
I have Reader Leanne in Australia to thank for the suggestion of wearing this new-to-me modern dress with these funky Fluevog boots.
I removed the three gold initial buttons from the black neck accents, and added a bunch of brass Brutalist jewelry pieces.
My colleague Keith, who has famously not registered a single outfit I've worn to work in the 12.5 years I've worked with him, said, "Nice outfit!"
I've named it my "Number One" dress because I'm a Star Trek fan - my favourite series are Next Generation, and current shows "Lower Decks" and "Strange New Worlds."
One of my favourite characters is Una or "Number One" (second in command) on SNW - a cool article here (link 'cause I love) about how the actress Rebecca Romijn wanted to have a dress as a wardrobe option on the show. She's a badass but is still feminine, plus she's 50, what a role model!

DeleteMy first thought on seeing the pic and not the text was Star trek! I love it! Oh please do wear the communicator badge! I do remember in the 1990's, there was a cool shop in Ilford called Jeffery Rogers and I saw in Mizz magazine that they had created a Star trek dress. Oh, how I wish I had bought it at the time! So cool! The boots were an INSPIRED companion!x
