Bronze Pleats, New Denim, and Leopard Spots

Phew, back to work after five days off! I'm exhausted - bring on the weekend!
I'm all armoured up in my new-to-me denim jacket with a good dose of metallic and colour.

  • Denim jacket - G-Star Raw, consignment, Powell River; purchased here for $49.00
  • Top - Garcia, consignment; first worn here (2nd outfit) in May with a leopard skirt
  • Skirt - Ralph Lauren, consignment; last worn here in March with a green snake blouse
  • Shoes - Groovy Aubrey, Fluevog; last seen here in early August with digital irises

I've been wanting to wear this bronze pleated skirt for ages - this is its first wearing of the spring/summer closet season, shockingly.
I keep it out all year round, as it's far too gorgeous to not have out 100% of the time.

I loved the new denim - it's got loads of stretch.
I took it off periodically when I overheated from exertion or a hot flash (dammit, still getting those).

The orange top has bits of bronzy gold in it.
I showed my coworker Stefanie how I fixed the "A Leopard Doesn't Change It's Spots" gold printing on the front (I scraped off the apostrophe).

Bad grammar makes me twitchy.
Orange bookends.

All done up, showing how the bottom splits open.
So nice! I did not colour over the white bits on the jacket.

Incognito.
I picked this leopard scarf to match the spots in the top's image, and it has an orange stripe too. It was meant to be!

The stuff:
Comfy shoes! Dear friend Elaine is in town this week, so a bunch of us gathered after work at Swan's Pub for some drinks, food and laughs. I walked from the office and met up with her there - comfy shoes were needed.

Amber bling:
Finally, a good set of amber and amber-coloured stuff.

  • Silk scarf - Janie Besner, thrifted
  • Amber/silver bracelet - consignment, Powell River; purchased here for $29.00
  • Bangle - vintage 1920s, vintage mall
  • Silver/amber ring - consignment
  • Small silver/amber ring - Past Times, gift from L, c. 1996
  • Silver poison ring - Mexican, Karen's
  • Silver/smoky topaz ring - Anneli Neumann, Sweden, vintage mall
  • Amber/silver earrings - thrifted; purchased here for $15.00
  • Necklace - vintage 1920s, vintage mall, gift from L

We arrived home close to 8pm. Vizzini, you've been fed, stop hounding me for more food.
"If you're home, I should be fed."

He's filled with food fury!

  1. Glimmery and shimmery, that's your green pleated skirt! The bottom splits are new to my eye, first jean jacket I've ever seen with splits and it is quite flattering.

    Welcome back from vacation!
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. Does the skirt look green to you, Laurie? It is a bright, shiny golden-bronze in person. I've never seen a jean jacket like this either - I loved wearing it.

      Thank you!

    2. Wow, yes, the skirt does look green to me. However, I do see strands of shiny golden bronze woven through the fabric. I've read that men and women process color differently, but I suspect that none of us sees color the same way!

  2. Cats don't think of nothing much but food so it seems, lol, but they are too cute. Anyway, love your skirt. I haven't worn a pleated skirt in a while but they are irresistible!

  3. Fabulous outfit, Sheila! Your bronze metallic pleated skirt is seriously swoon-worthy, and looks an absolute treat with the orange top and shoes. The new denim jacket gets a thumbs up from me too. Oh, and the amber bling is gorgeous too, I instantly spotted your new bracelet! Cats, they're all the same, aren't they, when it comes to food. Or treats! Bess often pesters Jos for treats when she's just had some from me, hoping that I didn't tell him so :-) xxx

    1. Thank you so much, Ann! It's such a classic skirt and I loved how well it worked with the orange bookends. I also really loved the jean jacket. I'm so happy I have an amber set now - but I'm still on the lookout for more bracelets.

Hee, yes, our cats do love food...and sleeping...and meowing. Vizzini does that too - it's like he thinks we can't communicate to each other!

  4. That's a gorgeous skirt.
I can understand the urge to scrap off the apostrophe so well.
