Glitzy Gold and Festive Florentine

Another bit of sparkly for the season - this lovely aqua, gold and purple dress.
I bought it in Florence, Italy, hence the "Florentine".

  • Dress - Max & Co., Florence, Italy; last worn here in February on a rough day
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last seen here in November with my chartreuse cheater
  • Coat (below) - Stop Staring!, thrifted; last worn here in November

You can also fight Florentine, which is with a sword in each hand.
Nope, just lots of gold, no swords here.

Florentine also means "with spinach".
 No spinach here either.

Outerwear - pink accoutrements again.
We've been super-lucky this year not to have any really cold weather (yet), so I've been able to stretch the wear on my autumn-weight coats out a little longer.

  • Cashmere beret - Club Monaco, thrifted
  • Pashmina - Portolano, thrifted
  • Leather gloves - consignment

The stuff:

So much shininess! My feet are tired after three days in heels, though. Flats for the rest of the week, I think.

Glitzy gold bling:
I like mixing up all my golds.

  • Belt - thrifted, Powell River
  • Earrings - Biko, consignment
  • Bracelet - Lia Sophia, thrifted
  • Wee tree pin - Avon
  • Big tree pin - Keyes, gift from Ev

A few extra pictures today. I hit a wrong button and got a bunch of blurry pictures action shots!
Walking back to the camera after I thought the timer had gone off.

I'm a blur!
I kind of like how the bits of gold trace there.

Here's the fabric close-up - I know the pictures don't show it well.
It's stunning in person, very thick and luxurious.

Only 2 more days!

  1. Being an ex-chef I knew about the spinach but not about the sword fighting and there's also the art, the biscuits and, of course, your fabulous dress!
Love that you've ramped up the bling factor with plenty of gold accessories, if you're going to do it then do it properly - and you do! xxx

  3. Yey for only 2 days left to go, and those blurry photos do pick up the gold so well! this dress works so well with gold and I love how pulled together outfits look when you have a common theme running through the accessories - sometimes I throw mine on, but the outfits I stop and think about the overall look like this are the ones I enjoy more!

  5. Love this outfit immensely. Imagining myself at a holiday party in it. (Is that okay? I promise to give it back.) The belt and heels are so perfect with the dress. You're a fashion maven.

  6. Oh, that dress's fabric is stunning, Sheila. Thanks for the close-up! Love the gold bling, especially those Christmassy brooches. Love how the gold seems to come alive in the blurry pics ... After a short cold snap, I've reverted to my Autumn coats too, none of them as fabulous as yours though. I've always admired that coat of yours! And it's just perfect with the pink scarf, beret and gloves, too. Just one more day for me, but it's going to be a hectic one, as usual. Hang on in there, Sheila, not long now! xxx

    1. I knew you would like the detail, Ann - it really does not show at all in the pictures. This coat was such a find - and so cheap! One day more for me now! We can do it!
