Ooh, I'm in a rush - I'm off to have dinner with L and my brother Dave (it was my bro's birthday last Saturday), so I have to get this post done and walk to town.
I built my outfit around this new-to-me skirt that I bought on the weekend. Most people just liked the silk teal blouse, though. The colour is a winner!- Blouse - White House Black Market, thrifted; first worn here (2nd outfit) with metallic leather pants in October 2017
- Skirt - Talula Babaton, thrifted; purchased here for $18.95
- Shoes - Truths Makena, Fluevog; last seen here (3rd outfit) for "Chicago" with Mom in December 2017
- Coat (below) - BCBC Max Azria, thrifted; last seen here in December 2017
It helps that the colour matches my glasses almost exactly.
I love a paper-bag waist on pants and skirts. It makes ones waist look small.
Pockets make one very happy!
I liked wearing this skirt - the extreme fullness around the waistal region was fun.
It's very SHORT, though. I was on Top Vigilant Alert for it while sitting at my desk.
Outerwear - we continue to have mild temperatures. It rained a bunch today, but I've managed to miss it.
Long gloves for short sleeves!
- Fur toque - Danier Leather
- Fur scarf - Danier Leather, thrifted
- Leather gloves - Club Monaco, consignment
The stuff:
A mix of heavy metal textures and colours, including these fabulous pewter shoes. So comfy!
Metal bling:
Double cuff action!
- Belt - BCBG Max Azria, consignment
- Poe cuff - Jezebel Charms, gift from L
- Frida cuff - thrifted, first wear, paid $6.95 for it
- Spinner ring - Twang & Pearl
- Bronze ring - P. Sarpaneva, vintage 70s, vintage fair
- Earrings - don't remember
Off to dinner!
Oh I love the studded belt with the paper bag waist! :) Every time I see a paper bag waist I regret letting go of my shorts with that waist, they really would have got so much wear if I'd kept them, silly of me to let them go!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mica! I have worn paper bag waists since the 80s! I'm sure you'll find another pair of shorts.
DeleteBeautiful blouse and look beautiful in it, great accessories. I admire the coat.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jolanta!
Deleteyou rock this skirt, it has a lovely shape and pockets!! (that's really cool!!)
ReplyDeleteI love your accessorizing, those pewter and bronze shades look awesome!
Lovely coat too, and it looks very elegant with the long gloves (and practical!)
besos
Thank you! I know, the pockets really sold me. I like mixed metals - I used to be afraid of them. The coat is awesome, but not when it's cold out!
DeleteI love the shape on that skirt on you, Sheila. It might be shorter than you're used to but hey, it has pockets! The teal silk blouse is lovely too. Oh, and you've reminded me that I've got a pair of long gloves too, but I can't remember where I put them. I'm a bit preoccupied now ... xxx
ReplyDeleteYes, you're right - it wasn't that bad for the length, and the pockets are such a nice bonus. Long gloves are awesome! Find them!
DeleteLovely skirt Sheila. It reminds me of one I have but yours has a waaay better fit.
ReplyDeleteThanks, hon! I don't think I remember yours?
DeleteThe top and skirt are great together, Sheila! I absolutely love the belt: I think it really adds the wow factor! The pewter shoes are fab too and you already know how much I love those cuffs! ;) XXX

DeleteThanks, Sasha! The belt and the cuffs are both so "armour" for me.
