Oh, yeah, I'm totally sick, but it doesn't feel like I've gotten a heavy dose of whatever's going around. Now that Friday is over, I intend to enjoy a quiet weekend. I need it!
Abandoned seasonal greenery alert! |
- Top - Dex, consignment; purchased here for $9.50
- Skirt - Danier Leather, thrifted, Powell River; last seen here (3rd outfit) just last week over the holidays
- Shoes - Michael Kors, thrifted; last worn here (2nd outfit) to see The New Pornographers
- Coat (below) - Danier Leather; last seen here in December 2017
These quilted arm-pads reminded me of padding under actual armour - I felt strong and tough, like Wonder Woman! Back off, sickness!
I'd planned on wearing a long suede skirt (this one) but I didn't like the length of it with a flat shoe. I much preferred this shorter skirt with tights.
You have to love zippers on the sleeves (they clacked all day, but didn't get in the way), and all along the hem. You can actually zip the skirt closed...but not while you're in it.
This is one of my favourite black skirts, and I have a lot of black skirts! I'm getting good cost-per-wear on it, but mostly, I just really like the shape and length of it. Plus, leather! Duh!
Outerwear - leather weather! I am fully armoured now!
It was raining a bit, so I wore my 90s hat.
- Hat - Liz Claiborne, thrifted
- Fur boa - thrifted
- Studded gloves - Danier Leather
I did a lot of running around today at work - a very busy day - and these squishy shoes were just lovely. I walked home in them too.
Silver bling:
All special things to me. When I'm feeling under the weather (either mentally or physically), I tend to go to old favourite pieces.
- Earrings - 10th anniversary gift from L, Frances Jewelers
- Spider ring - gift from Mom & Dad, Mexico
- Snake ring - BC Museum Gift Shop, c. 1986
And speaking of old favourites, I'm going to go hang out with L and Vizzini! I'll be back on Sunday with my wrap-up. Happy weekend, my friends!
Another cool outfit -- love the zip factor :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cynthia!
DeleteSorry to hear you're not feeling well - get some rest on the weekend! A perfect black leather skirt should be a staple in everyone's wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteYou've maned to look stylish despite being sick, I don't know how you do it! I find bright colours are good to distract from how terrible I look and feel when I'm unwell, haha!
ReplyDeleteI hope you do manage to rest up and fully recover this weekend - it's no fun being sick! baby boy's just picked up another something so I'm hoping it's short-lived!
Thanks so much, Mica! I am good at faking it, I guess. Brights are great for distraction. Thank you - I was good and stayed home most of the time.
DeleteGlad you found just the right combination of elements to keep you feeling well-armored for the day. I hope that you get enough down time this weekend to facilitate full recovery!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! There was lots of down-time!
DeleteWhat a way to combat being sick! You're looking ready to tackle anything that crosses your path! Meanwhile, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. Take care of yourself, Sheila! xxx
ReplyDeleteArmour, faking it, whatever it takes, Ann! Thanks so much for your good wishes, much appreciated.
DeleteI like to comfy&cool outfit and those sleeves!, they're even better if they make you feel stronger! fabulousness!!
ReplyDeleteI also tend to wear some old favourites when I feel 'under the water'
Get well soon

Wearing favourites is the way to go, isn't it? Thanks so much, m'dear.
DeleteFab outfit - you do like a bit of leather/pleather and it looks great on you. Definitely a 'I am a strong woman' look; you look like you could kick anybody's butt!
ReplyDeleteYou know I do! Thanks, Veronica!
DeleteVery cool sleeves on that shirt and love that red leather coat!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, hon!
DeleteI am still leather-envious of your skirts. Get well/feel well soon!
ReplyDeleteGet one, Gerrilyn, they're lovely! Thank you so much.
DeleteThose shoes and sleeves, I can see how they would be a pick-me-up any time. I'm glad you're through your work week and can concentrate on, well, nothing really, except relaxation. I hope that cold gives up on you as an unwilling participant.
ReplyDeleteIt was good to have that week over, for sure. Thanks, Mel - I'm still sick, but hiding it well.
DeleteWearing leather always makes me feel better if I need a boost. It's great armour against the world.
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly! I love both literal and metaphorical clothes. ;-P
DeleteI can't tell you're sick ! Look at that outfit, that smile :)
ReplyDeleteIn my case, when I am sick YOU CAN tell ....
