Greys and Soft Shoes

Ah, I'm glad today is over. Although I am mostly chipper on the blog, stuff goes on in my real life that I don't discuss. This has been an emotionally heavy-lifting week, and now I need some downtime.
Tomorrow will be a quiet day at work (this weekend is a long weekend in Canada), and then I have lovely plans to recuperate with L, my friends (in small and large groups) and by myself. That's the best for an introvert like me, who works in two extroverted jobs!

  • Jacket - Boden, thrifted; first worn here in April with all silks
  • Dress - Elie Tahari, consignment; last seen here in August 2016 with pops of yellow
  • Shoes - Sofft, thrifted; purchased here for $25.15

This dress is so spectacular (look how that pattern lines up!), but this outfit is really not doing it justice by covering it up and wearing dark shoes with it.

However, I didn't shave my 'pits this morning, and so I needed a jacket, and this one is soft and comfy.
I also wanted to wear these shoes, so I needed a neutral jacket.

The stuff:
I loved wearing these shoes, although I've had a long day (regular work, plus my WW meeting) and my feet are tired now. However, I think I'll put these shoes away for fall/winter - the colour is more suited to that seasonal wardrobe, and they look too visually heavy for bare legs. I think they'll be awesome with grey or black tights, don't you?

Silver bling:
Simple pieces.

  • Earrings - gift from Megan Mae
  • Ring - Nine West

I will be back on Monday to regale you with tales of adventure! Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

And I understand you very well, as I don't tell all my so-called-Real-Life stuff in the blog, I like to keep it chipper too. Wish you enjoy your weekend and take care of yourself!

    1. Thank you! Yes, the shoes are definitely going into "tights" weather outfits! I know you get it - it's hard to stay "up" sometimes.

  8. Beautiful dress, Sheila! Hope you got your rest and enjoy the long weekend.

It's finally spring here, and I did lots of heavy lifting in the garden this weekend. I have a full-day birthday tattoo session scheduled on Friday--this marks a year since I met the artist and got started with the concept. This will probably be it until fall, due to travel and some unexpected expenses lately. Looking forward to it . . .

I'm not a gardener, but that sounds very relaxing. Ooh, so exciting!! Wow, this has been such a journey for you! I hope you are excited and enjoying the process.

    1. It can be, for sure. I tend to internalize a lot of the emotion that have to deal with at both of my works. Thanks so much, Elle!

  10. Hope you are having a lovely restorative weekend. I think most of us put our best face forward on our blogs, but there is always real life to deal with behind the scenes, and it can be physically and emotionally exhausting (ie. my lungs are being assholes AGAIN). The shoes are very cool - another great thrift find!

    1. I did, thank you, Shelley! It's good to remind the readers sometimes - I know my mom thinks she knows everything that goes on in my life because of my blog, ha ha!

  11. I try to keep my blog as my happy place too, so I definitely get where you're coming from. I trust that by the time I'm playing catch up with your posts that you will be feeling more like yourself.

The idea of the tights with these shoes seems right to me too.
