May the Fourth Be With You

Did you figure out my hint for today's special day? It's Star Wars Day! My favourite made-up holiday.
It's May 4th, so May the Fourth Be With You!

  • Shirt - Tommy Hilfiger, thrifted; last seen here in March under my Kenzo tiger dress
  • Trousers - Ralph Lauren, thrifted; purchased here in April for $14.95
  • Shoes - Prepare Guide, Fluevog; last seen here in August 2015 with a funky dress
  • Blazer (below) - Braemar, thrifted, vintage 80s; last worn here in December 2015 with purple sparkle

I enjoyed this outfit, although (sigh) the shirt is too big on me. I have about 6 extra inches in the waist.
First wearing of these magenta pants and I am smitten, I tell you.

I wore my lovely blue blazer as my coat whenever I ventured outside (it's been a bit cooler the last few days, thank goodness).
 Overall, I was pleased.

The stuff:
I am always thrilled every year to get these aqua shoes back in rotation.

Star Wars bling!
I snagged this tie out of L's collection. I've worn it before, here in July 2012. I even wore the same rings with that outfit! I'm so original, ha.

  • Earrings - Glee
  • Death Star ring - Soul Flower
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Tie - Curious Comics, c. 1996

The tie is 20 years old this year! It's held up well, having been worn at least 100 times since I bought it for L for Christmas the year before we got married.
We still have the tin and the certificate of authenticity. Just call me Darth Sheila!

  1. Love the colour combination of the magenta and blue together. Makes me want to grab my magenta bag out again. Your tie is perfect for Star Wars day. I saw so many people dressed up yesterday for the occasion. A few Stormtroopers (in full suit!) too.

  3. Really, really cool outfit! Ties look incredible on you. That's one thing I've always wanted to try, but haven't quite mustered the courage for yet. Perhaps I just haven't hit on the right tie yet...

  4. You ought to be pleased with yourself - it's a great look. The shoes are totally fab, but I'm suffering pangs of envy re these trousers. I found a similar pair this morning online but they were only in a size fit for a dolly. Woe is me! I think I'm happy with my lot until I see you parading about in some other new thing for me to fancy. I can only bear it as I know you truly love these as much as I yearn for them x

  5. You've been concocting some good outfits lately, but I just thought I'd add a 'bravo' for the snazzy tie done as women's wear. I always like that look but personally I couldn't pull it off, as I don't like wearing shirts with collars. So, it looks good on you, and those magenta pants are great, with the shoes. Great outfit, may the 4th be with you :-) cheers

  6. Totally loving that 80's vibe with the bright trousers and blazer.
How cool that you're able to still wear your won vintage tie 100+times later :)
