Oh, gawd, the first day back after a long weekend is so...gahhhhh...
I'm inarticulate. The clothes will do the talking!- Jacket - Vero Moda in Blue, thrifted; last seen here with greens
- Top - Anne Klein, consignment; last worn here in February layered under Gaga shoulders
- Trousers - Tara Jarmon, consignment; last seen here with a Muppet sweater
- Shoes - Poetic Licence Star Wars "I Know", gift from mother-in-law; last worn here with mint
My debut of my crazy punk hair! Most of my coworkers were in the same kind of groggy fog today as me, so not many noticed it.
We're nearing the end of May so I'm looking closely and critically at all the items in my capsule. I don't think I'm going to keep this jacket. I prefer it done up, but it totally gapes at the boobs. I wore it open today and liked it, but then, I want that waist definition more. It's also a pseudo-sweatshirt material, so not the greatest fabric. I have other blazers I like more, and I've gotten 3 wears out of it for $7.99. Less than $3.00 a wear is good. I'm happy to let it go.
The pants are keepers, however. And don't even talk about the shoes!
The stuff:
"I know." I can't even describe how much joy these shoes give me.
Round bling:
Han and Leia 4-evah! |
- Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
- Earrings - thrifted
First wearing of the earrings purchased for $4.00 on the weekend.
Two more days and then I have another long weekend! Woo!
Sheila, I am all admiration for your ability to let go, whether of a good chunk of hair (you look fab, btw!), or a wadrobe item that isn't up to your standard. I cling to things worrying I may never find a better replacement! But in this case, I think I'd cling to that blazer just from sheer like: I've thought it marvellous every time you've worn it. Those buttons! That shape! It blows my boring blazers out of the water. (I admit there is NOTHING in my wardrobe to compare to the shoes. No words.)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Sherry! I can always look back at the pictures - I try to never regret getting rid of a piece (and I often see it again on a friend or coworker!).
DeleteIsn't it though? I hope that you guys had a marvelous one. Ours was a blast, though a rain soaked one at that, as it poured all three days (and for much of Tuesday, too). Definitely not the norm for these Okanagan parts this late in May, but at least it's giving the landscape some much needed H2O before we do eventually launch into summertime proper.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are awesome! I bet it's next to impossible not to smile each time you look down at your feet when you've got them on.
♥ Jessica
I absolutely love that blazer on you but I also admire you for letting things go when you just aren't 100% happy with them. I have too many pieces in my wardrobe I've been holding onto until something that is perfect comes along. should just get rid of them.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the shoes! And those trousers, I think they are magical. Love the short hair too, you're a star. xo

I love the new shorter hair! I also love the blazer - it goes so well with what you're wearing in the post. But if you don't love it - bye, bye!

I simply adore the entire outfit. Every piece of it!
ReplyDeleteMust say that the hair is looking utterly fab today Sheia! I know what you mean about the jacket. It has to be functional doesn't it? In such a large closet like yours, every little piece has to earn its keep. And sweatshirt material? Maybe it's time to let it go as you say. Love, love the dotty trousers and of course, those shoes x
