Ah, what a relaxing weekend; I totally needed this. Saturday was spent being sporty.
This is what I wore to the field to play Ultimate Frisbee in the morning. My hair's undone so that there's no product in it before colouring.- Top - Monteau Los Angeles, thrifted; first worn here back in June 2015
- Skirt - Concept XXV, thrifted; last seen last weekend here (2nd outfit) with lace and turquoise
- Shoes - Franco Sarto, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in September 2015
- Cardigan (below) - Gap, thrifted; last worn here in April 2015 with cream
We had a tough game, with my team losing. It was hot and overcast in the morning, and a bit windy, which makes for a challenging game.
After lunch, we rushed home to quickly shower.
This was my outerwear worn most of the day.
A wee splash of colour in an otherwise neutral outfit.
The stuff:
I just wear these shoes on the weekends - I need really easy shoes after playing Ulti!
- Cuff - gift from Karen
- Earrings - local
Vizzini kept an eye on things while we got ready to leave the house again.
"I wouldn't have to be so vigilant if you stayed home more." |
"Have you nothing better to do?" |
We walked down to Royal Athletic Park and met up with a bunch of our friends and their families to watch the Vancouver Riptide take on the San Francisco Flame Throwers. None of us had ever seen a professional Ultimate team play before, even though the sport was invented in Victoria!
Royal Athletic Park is in a downtown residential neighbourhood |
The visiting team in white, and the 4 officials on the left |
The home team, the Vancouver Riptide! |
Throughout the whole game, these two guys were doing promotions, prizes and getting the crowd (of about 300?) pumped up.
Sending t-shirts into the crowd with a slingshot.
We didn't get one.
And, game on!
Full-on sprinting |
That disc is so close to getting blocked! Sadly, the Riptide lost - the wind was a factor, but San Fran really outclassed them in the long game, being much faster and going for long shots.
L in his casual gear.
And our buddy Andrew in his Hartford Whalers cap.
Selfie time!
Jeff and I. We've been Ultimate colleagues for nearly 10 years!
L and I strolled home afterwards, I dyed my hair while he napped, and we enjoyed a couple of games of Arkham Horror that night.
"I smell elastic bands in that box!" |
This morning, I was up early to go get groceries (which should be arriving any minute).
Nice and comfy for a calm day.
- Shirt - Warehouse, thrifted; purchased here in April for $7.99
- Skirt - Vero Moda, thrifted; first worn here last week with stripes
- Shoes - Down to Earth Hadfield, Fluevog; last worn here (3rd outfit) last weekend for shopping with my mother-in-law
- Coat (below) - Danier Leather, consignment
I love how this denim shirt fits! It is just right through the boobs, and nice and small in the waist.
Perfect for a flared, full skirt.
Have to cover up my purple-stained scalp for a while.
Plus it was freezing out, so I was glad to have this coat on!
The stuff:
I love these shoes!
- Earrings - Stella and Dot, consignment
I wandered through Rich Rags, a consignment store, and had a bit of luck.
This is a wookie of a sweater - it's very furry.
It's pale blue and is by Topshop.
It was $39.00, but I love it.
I also fell for these shoes:
Okay, leopard, floral, with pink and purple? And a platform that makes them a manageable heel?
Don't these just scream "Sheila!"?
They are by Nine West and were also $39.00. Can't wait to wear them!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Wow those new shoes - they are singing your name. Great weekend gear, you two are tied for cutest couple ever (with S and me, natch ; >). Thanks for linking up, xox

You did not actually WEAR that long skirt to play in, right? Just wore it TO the field, THEN changed into your gym suit, right? Anyway, I do love that outfit.
ReplyDeleteNo, no, I just wear nice clothes to the field and I change there into my shorts, tee, cleats, etc. I like to look nice afterward for lunch when I'm out in public!
DeleteI really like your first outfit! I have a peplum tank I want to try with my maxi skirts now! It's more of a relaxed, boxy fit so not sure it will work as well as yours does here, but I'm going to give it a go :)
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure you are the best dressed player in that game ! I like the bright cardi as a fun addition to the look.
ReplyDeleteAND your hair looks amazing, even if you have just colored it - and yeah, those shoes were made for you.
The shoes are fab and I love your weekend outfits. The denim shirt fits you beautifully. I love it when I have a well fitted shirt!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Dang woman that color really does last!!!! That longer skirt has a really gorgeous super flattering fit!!!!
ReplyDeleteI knew something was wrong with my week and I remembered - I've forgotten to check Sheila's weekend roundup! I feel so much better now.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the team photo I thought, how unfair, one team has a gazillion players and the other only has four. Heh. Too bad the home team lost but vengeance shall be theirs!! Uh, maybe.
Love your outfits. Glad of your fresh hair - always feels great, right? And your swoopy maxi.
Have missed catching up with you this week Sheila. Too much to do on the home front getting ready for some friends to come and stay. Love the maxi skirt, the green skirt too, but most of all those wacky shoes. Yes, they did have your name on them!

All great outfits! I totally thought you played Ultimate Frisbie in the long skirt, too! And I thought, Wow! Good for you! Go get 'em. Rock that field in a maxi skirt. Ha! I love both floral shoes. No, I adore all of it. And all of you in your glorious, spectacular, unique style!
