Orange, Blue and Lines

I wanted a super-relaxed outfit for Monday.
It was like pajamas, only with a belt (and shoes).

  • Blouse - Bordeaux, consignment; first seen here in April, with Pierre and Christian
  • Skirt - Ralph Lauren, thrifted; purchased here for $17.50 a couple of weeks ago
  • Shoes - Tsubo; last worn here in April with the Spanish ladies dress

I prefer this blouse without a jacket over it, so that you can see the asymmetrical cut of the draping.
I adored this new-to-me skirt - it's perfectly swooshy, and I don't even mind that it's linen. I usually end up giving away all my linen because I can't handle the wrinkles, but I can barely see them with this bold plaid.

I'm meeting up with Elaine shortly to see the movie about Iris Apfel ("Iris") - I hope Elaine isn't wearing the same skirt (I was with her when she bought it new)!

The stuff:
I like my Kraft Dinner yellow shoes. they are getting a little beat up but they're so pretty.

Brown bling:
Power lines and air planes - may they never meet!

  • Belt - Tony Lama, thrifted
  • Buckle - local, gift from L
  • Cuff - Catalyst Reaction Leather
  • Ring - Dots
  • Earrings - Plum

And I'm off!

  1. Oh that skirt is beautiful! I'd say call ahead and be skirt twinsies with your friend. :D I remember in middle/high school all the girls had a tendency to say "I'll wear X if you do." Strange how as adults we swap that mentality for not wanting to 'copy' someone else's style.

I'm also surprised at how well your tsubos have lasted.

  2. I really like linen but also end up donating most of it (I don't own an iron : > ). I see no wrinkling whatsoever on this cool skirt. Linen win! xo

  3. I have about 3 linen garments, like you, if they're too wrinkly they're out.
This is such a pretty skirt.
Would you believe that nobody is bowing Iris' film here ?!! Nobody knows who she is, just last week I
briefed my fellow students in class who she was….
Just last week I was also eyeing my Tsubos, which are looking beat up too.. but yours look wayyyy better still.

  4. What an interesting skirt. And swoosh is very appealing.

  5. I struggle with linen too, for the same reason, but if the checked pattern gets over that problem, then that skirt is a winner! Love the bright yellow accents. xxx
