It was rather stormy today - this is typical for the west coast winter. It's better than snow!
I felt practically tropical in my tiki skirt.
It was gusty out - my hair was all blown about |
I bought it here on my Smoking Lily shopping bonanza for $25.
I had to wear my puffy-ruffly-puffly shirt for both Val Sparkle and Wendy Brandes. Is puffy-ruffly-puffly the Next New Thing? Do I care? No, I'll wear whatever the hell I want, and I love this blouse, which was worn twice during the November 2012 capsule (recap here).
This skirt sits quite low on the hips, and I had a full-length slip on (the skirt is also unlined), so the blouse was slip-sliding away every which way in the waistal region.
I'm still wearing these groovy nylons even though they've popped a toe and have a run |
Tiki Skirt (Smoking Lily): Outfit #1
The stuff:
The shoes are Ralph Lauren and I wore them in the February 2012 capsule twice (recap here), and once in a Wild Card outfit at the end of September 2012 (here).
The belt is a suede Le Chateau one that I bought at a vintage fair for $10.00.
Blouse (CAbi, consignment), skirt (Smoking Lily), shoes (Ralph Lauren), belt (Le Chateau, thrifted), earrings (Plum).
this is a very smart and beautiful outfit. love lucyx
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is so beautiful on you, and I really like it with the ruffled shirt :)
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is ROCKIN'--love the print!!! I love it with the puffy shirt--the shirt is such a gorgeous piece!
ReplyDeleteWow, that skirt does look intricately patterned. I can't even imagine doing a screen print like that. Once again you've styled up gorgeously. If I had a reason to dress up every day I'd want to copy everything you wear. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love this skirt! It's so much fun with all the colors and it looks like it fits you pretty darn well too! And now I'm definitely singing that song and missing Disney World!
ReplyDeleteLove the tiki skirt! It's got a great print and it's one of a kind? Like vous! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is aaaaa-maz-ing!
ReplyDeleteyou've made me a serious Smoking Lily fan.
You ruffled and puffled and blew the house down! Silky ruffles are the best! You know what I like best, though, is the way the shoe shape echoes the skirt pattern - so harmonic.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that tiki song, but did you ever see Tiki Bar TV (http://www.tikibartv.com - filmed in Vancouver)? So funny, and a cocktail recipe in every episode!
O, wow! I love how you've teamed it with a silky, sophisticated blouse!

Oh that skirt is wonderful, gorgeous print and colours, and the ruffle puffle of a blouse looks beautiful with it! xxx
ReplyDeleteOooh I LOVE the print. It's a fantastic skirt, though I can see why it would be one of a kind print.
ReplyDeleteGreat skirt. I wrote you a long comment earlier today but there was trouble when I clicked "Publish" so I suspect it didn't go through. In the comment, I thanked you for the helpful comment you left on my blog which led me to some deep thinking. I'm still processing the ideas and appreciate your kindness, intelligence and support.
ReplyDeleteI think the skirt is a keeper - it's very unusual with that print and it looks fab with the ruffled blouse (also a keeper)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my fave looks of yours. I love the lippy with the skirt, and you just look so flow-y yet chic.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great skirt, I love it - and the flaming lipstick!
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot, Shelia! There are so many fun things you can do with a skirt like this. Keep it for sure...its a great fit as well!
