Casual Friday: Acid Wash and Snakeskin

Woo hoo! It's Friday and a long weekend (BC Day)! I am so happy!

Today's outfit brought to you by my acid wash denim skirt:
I swear, it'll make a comeback, wait and see! This is the second wearing of my fabulous snakeskin shoes (seen here). I got a lot of compliments on them today, including from a "fragrant" man on the bus.
Nothing really special about this outfit: a little vest (it will have to be replaced soon, as the fabric is pilling a bit on the sides), a little sheer top, and a belt.

The stuff:
The shoes are so darned cool. They've really grown on me.

A close-up:
Hee, I get such a kick out of the acid wash. My dear friend Cat made me that necklace.

Vest (Vero Moda), blouse (Noa Noa), cami (Plum), skirt (Cache, thrifted), shoes (Fergalicious), belt (Plum), necklace (handmade, gift from Cat), earrings (Plum, gift from L).

  1. OK. Why did "Livin' on a Prayer" just start running through my head? It was like a Pavlovian response to the acid wash and the snakeskin. The whole ensemble is pretty awesome, though.

  2. Gorgeous shoes! The band around the ankle is a great detail.

I love the acid wash, it gives the skirt an interesting oomph.

  3. Arg, I'm behind on your post. Yesterday's outfit was so pretty. Yes, pretty and happy. Maybe it was the red lipstick. I smiled when I saw it.

Today's outfit was rockin'! Dude, only you can pull off an acid wash skirt. Yes, only you.

Add another arg to your awesome shoes. Do your shoes have their own room?

  8. Rock on, woman! And acid wash is totally back - isn't it? I just saw a woman at the mall wearing acid wash jeggings. (p.s. I support your choices more than hers.)

Also, I've got glam rock on the brain after reading all these comments.

  10. so very nice! it's a bummer that certain 'washes' of denim go in and out of style. a lot of the lighter versions can be much easier for paler people to wear.

and i'm glad i'm not the only one who gets compliments from those living on the edge! some of the most style- and fashion-conscious remarks i've received over the years have been from guys living on the streets. and i think we should be flattered - being out and about all day i'm sure they see everything!

  13. Thanks, Rad!

Steph, thank you. I was never a fan of acid wash back in the day, but I like it on this particular skirt. You're right about the pale thing! Ha, yes, I think that the "man on the street" (literally) has seen it all.

    Thanks, Wendy!

    Thanks, Natasha!
