Happy Thursday! I am having a glass of wine or two (red), frantically blogging before my mom picks me up (more on that in a bit), and cooking dinner (grilled cheese w/veggies, did not burn it for once). Hurray for multi-tasking!
And we have the return of the culottes in their Emerald Gorgeousity:here with my black and white micro-dot jacket (I hear the cool kids are into black and white these days).
I wrangled them into the stair pose, but they strenuously objected. The top is my lovely teal sweater that I last wore here with my massive black suede skirt.
Faith Low Reumah* (why "low" when these are quite high, I don't know). I bought them back in October (here, better pictures), but of course they are a very summery shoe, so they've been sitting in my closet, calling to me.
*linking 'cause I love (and they're on sale).
They were quite comfy for running about. I am not 100% in love with the floral as it makes it much harder to put stuff with them (as opposed to that nice grass-green suede or black), but they were only $54.00! and the floral seems to have been a limited run. I do like an exclusive.
I have coral toenails (first half-assed pedicure of the year, and it won't be the last), which went nicely with the floral, as did this groovy pinky-toned bracelet:
Sweater (Kenneth Cole Reaction, consignment), culottes (Jac Dale, vintage 70s, thrifted), shoes (Faith Low Reumah, Fluevogs), belt (Club Monaco), big bracelet (vintage fair), spoon bracelet (About Tine), earrings (90s, LA Express).
Tonight, my female family (full of exes, former-in-laws, nieces, me and my mom) are going to see a big production of "Beauty and the Beast"! I'm excited, because "The Gaston Song" is freakin' awesome - one of the funniest Disney songs ever written, in my opinion.
I changed, because Crazy Auntie Sheila has to represent, yo.
here) replaces the more covered-up sweater. I adore this top.
I belted it with Mom's vintage 70s gold chain belt. With this much volume, ya gotta belt.
here) to go with the overall gold/shiny accent theme.
Anyway, I'm excited for the theatre! So fun!
Oh, and hey, I'm linking up to Lynn's Goodwill Career Wear Challenge, because these culottes were only $4.00 and the top was $9.50, so my outfit is under $20 (not including the shoes, which were only $40 on cheap cheap sale). We're not counting the jewelry either (although most of it is hand-me-over or bought for me). This isn't really career wear but I think Theatre Wear for under $15 is pretty sweet!
Top (Le Chateau, thrifted), culottes (Jac Dale, vintage 70s, thrifted), shoes (Coach), belt/gold cuff (Mom's, both 70s vintage), copper cuff (Renoir, vintage 50s/60s, Grandma J's), earrings (Erica Weiner), spinner ring (Twang & Pearl).
