I did the scarf in my hair this time, and added grey tights.
Advantage: the dress looks like a top. Disadvantage:
Layer #1: tights. Layer #2: dress lining. Layer #3: dress.
I was rather...warm in the midsection all day (and my arms were freezing).
The stuff:
Tomorrow: 2 outfits in a workday. One is casual, one is for a funeral. Can it be done??

I love those boots and I see your problem with the dress as a top - which looks fabulous by the way.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing the way you have mixed your outfits - yeat again.
Hope all goes well today.
Haha, you are so funny! I've been considering overlaying two dresses together, but the heat and the layer factor has made me hesitate. Now I see that confirmed by you. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous anyway, m'dear. That's a great dress no matter how you wear it!
Your boots are like a ray of sunshine!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm scared of trying to layer dresses under skirts. I don't exactly have the thinnest waistline. Plus the heat. But maybe I'll give it a try. Thanks for inspiration :)
Yeah, you have to be careful with which pieces you pick to layer because of the heat potential. I find that unlined dresses and skirts make the best layers. You do look fab though!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can see myself liking the warmth when it's colder out, but it was somewhat uncomfortable for this season. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteKristen, see Audi's tip below - she uses unlined items for layering. Thank you so much!
Ha, thanks, Tanya! And welcome and thank you for commenting! I think the layering will be great for warmer weather - and hey, you could always layer a fuller skirt to define your waist more.
I learned that the hard way, Audi! Thanks very much for the advice.
