Fancy Friday: Bronze and Baby Blue, and a Jungle Bridge

Happy Friday, my friends, and welcome to the weekend! I hope your lives are (somewhat) returning to normal.
I've been saving this outfit for a Fancy Friday look - I kept this wonderful bronze pleated skirt out from my fall/winter wardrobe just because I love it so much.

  • Blazer - Zara, consignment; last worn here in an all-pink outfit in April
  • Baby blue blouse - no label, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen and Flashbacked here in April
  • Skirt - Ralph Lauren, consignment; last worn here in March in a power outfit
  • Shoes - Effortless Vivian, Fluevog; last seen here in April with a dropped waist

Since I don't have a ton of browns/bronze colours in my spring/summer wardrobe, I poked around in my closet to see what I had to go with it.
This jungle-print blazer was perfect, with its mix of cream, olive, blue and pink.

That led me to my favourite baby blue blouse.
Seriously, it goes with everything. Check out the Flashback here if you don't believe me!

Due to the hot weather today (up in the mid-20s), I spent part of my day with my jacket off.
I put it back on whenever I was slightly chilled. Off, on. Off, on.

The jacket is the bridge between the solid baby blue and the bronze.
It ties the two pieces together.
I tried to take a picture of me twirling in the skirt (it's a full circle), but it was rather blurry.

Masked up - I chose a pink one to go with the jungle print.
I matched my glasses to the pink too.

  • Mask - by Mom

I remembered that I have summer hats!
Time to break out my straw one to help protect my face from the sun.

  • Hat - thrifted

The stuff:
These are the 3rd pair of shoes I have in this family; the others are the three-toned boots from last weekend, and my shiny pink shoes from my "outfit salad" earlier this week.

  • Belt - vintage 60s, Mom's
  • Earrings - thrifted, Sidney
  • Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

I picked white to go with the shoes.

On my way home from work, I stopped in at Lazy Susan's and found a couple of Lucite bangles:
The pair on the left are a rusty-brown and were $5.00 for the pair; the clear blue one was $4.00.

I have really small wrists, so whenever I find small bangles I buy them. Most bracelets fall off me.
A close-up so you can see that the brown ones have vertical seams - they are two U-shapes that have been joined to make the O. I didn't find any mold seams on the blue one - the inside is a matte finish.

Wishing you all a weekend full of sunshine.
"And hugs and kitty treats."

Good advice, Vizzini! Hugs and human treats for all! Stay cool, my friends! I'll be back on Sunday with tales of adventure. Thank you all so much for dropping by!

    1. Thank you, Vix! I wish I'd gotten to show the outfit off a bit more. I love this blouse, but it is starting to get dark under the arms. But it does go with so much!

I love them too - I and I have two of them, so about time I got around to wearing them again.

Big hugs to you, the lads, and Jon too - I hope you all have a wonderful week.

  3. Yay for summer hats! I’m a big fan of them for the same reason, sun protection. Plus they can add style and pizzaz and even whimsy to an outfit.

The shimmer that I see in the skirt makes me wonder what it is like when the sun shines on it; some clothes interact with the light to wow, like beaded and sequined material.

And that blue bangle bracelet makes me smile, great color!

Here’s to the weekend and Summer Solstice!

    2. Agreed, Laurie! I love my hats - I think I need a big wide one, though. Who doesn't like pizzazz and whimsy??

Oh, it's amazing in the sun - like sun on water, with so much shimmer to it. I'm happy with my bangles!

I have been following but slack on commenting but there as always have been lots of inspired outfits. So glad you got to have a lovely lunch with your Mum the other day. have a great week end Shazxx

  7. Life is returning to some kind of normal here in Belgium, which is lovely, but scary at the same time. There's a lot of things we'll have to re-learn!
Your Fancy Friday look is magnificent, and I can't get over how well baby blue and bronze go together. I'm seriously coveting that baby blue blouse, by the way. Your jungle blazer and all your lovely bling are the perfect finishing touches.
Have a most wonderful weekend, Sheila, Bess is sending purrs to Vizzini! xxx

  9. That's a terrific go to blouse. I have a colleague that does Fancy Friday, even from home and posts her looks. By Friday, I'm usually as casual as can be.
