Red Circles and Floral Kisses

Woo, I'm on vacation! I have a full week off now, and I'm going to spend it hanging out with L for his birthday week. There will be many shenanigans afoot this week, you can be sure.

However, today was Monday and back to work for me. Obviously, I spaced on the stair picture...again.
Sigh. Ah, well, at least I didn't forget anything really important, like my glasses!

  • Top - Talbots, thrifted; last worn here in September 2020 shrouded in grey
  • Skirt - Aljean, vintage 80s, thrifted; purchased here for $22.99
  • Shoes - Super Fine Cardinal, Fluevog; last seen here in December 2020 with shiny paisley and velvet

I made an outfit right away with my new-to-me "kisses" skirt (the red centres of the tan flowers look like lip-prints). It was awesome to wear, although the whole skirt rotated while I was walking home.
I wore a full red vintage slip under it (I also spaced on showing a saucy peek of that) just to keep it from being too sheer.

I took the easy route and paired it with red.
I'm a big ran of this circles top - it's like open-work lace. It's unlined in the sleeves.

Masked up.
It was a gorgeous day today, up to 21 degrees - no coat needed!

The stuff:
I was chatting with a former coworker in our building lobby when a person exiting the nearby elevator hollered at me, "This! So good! Gold shoes!" while waving her arms at me. I think people are looking forward to wearing dressy clothes...or at least seeing other people dressed up.

  • Mask - by Mom

Gold bling:
More easy stuff.

  • Bracelet - thrifted, Sidney
  • Earrings - Biko, consignment
  • Brutalist ring - vintage mall
  • Klimt wood ring - consignment

I will be posting every couple of days while I'm off, just so it's not so much work after a week. Ah, I am looking forward to much chilling out and many naps.

  6. First of all, happy birthday to L.! How wonderful that you've both got the week off to celebrate! Your "kisses" skirt looks even better on, and while pairing it with red might have been the easy route, it looks absolutely perfect to me. The gold shoes are delicious with it too, no wonder that person hollered at you. I'm a tiny bit disappointed not getting a sneaky peek of your red vintage slip, though :-) Have a most excellent week, Sheila! xxx

I know this was a "gimme" for styling, but sometimes you just want the easy route. Sorry for missing the slip - next time!

  8. Oh enjoy! I know you will! This outfit feels very matchy matchy. Which is what I like, but doesn't feel you! I once wore golden sneakers in a castle in the UK, when a older woman said, smashing shoes! I loved those sneakers, because gold, but no one liked them, which made them even more beautiful to me!

    1. Thank you, Nancy! I love a matchy outfit, it's just my jam, you know? How could no one like gold sneakers?? That just seems wrong.

  12. Fantastic outfit. I adore how the colours at play here remind me of the warmest summer sky as dusk consumes starts to consume the vibrancy of the sky for another sizzling hot day.
