I so did not want to go to work today, and knew I'd be feeling listless, so you know I had to wear a dress.
This new-to-me sparkly dress fit the bill. Jammy dress time!- Dress - Sandwich, thrifted; purchased here on Saturday for $26.95
- Sleeveless sweater - Twik, thrifted; last seen here in January, layered under the teddy top
- Boots - Spring Step; first worn here with an orange mini in January
- Coat (below) - Topshop, consignment; last worn here a little over a week ago
While I love the nice fit and the gorgeous rich lipstick red colour (with sparkles!), this is not a winter dress.
It's a very thin cotton dress, not lined, and it rode up while walking to and from work. Very aggravating.
I layered the black sweater under it, which helped.
But really, I have to put it in the spring/summer pile.
Barely awake, hands in pockets.
Outerwear - this coat didn't help the riding up part at all.
I spent nearly every second of my walk yanking down the hem.
I wore it zipped up in the morning, but the sun was shining on the way home.
Feels like spring, but it's still quite cold.
- Gloves - Cejon, thrifted
The stuff:
I adore these boots - they had lots of fans all day at work.
Gold bling:
The Ambush set also had admirers - they are very heavy.
- Cuff/necklace - Ambush, consignment, Vancouver, gifts from L
- Earrings - consignment
- Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
Vizzini disappeared - I found him burrowed under our down comforter on the bed.

Thank you, Sakuranko!
DeleteThose brocade boots are so beautiful, I love them too. The details on them are so gorgeous and they look very quality made. Plus, they look great on you, especially paired with this fun dress. I like how you layered a sleeveless turtleneck under it, that made it for winter appropriate... Still, maybe it would be good to wear leggings underneath it since it is thin cotton. That is how I layer my summer dresses for winter, I make sure I wear warm tights/leggings with boots.
ReplyDeleteAren't they fabulous? They are really well made - all that black is leather. The turtleneck helped but ugh, the dress needs bare legs.
DeletePretty dress. I get not wanting to go to work. Believe me...
ReplyDeleteOh, I am there, sister! Thanks, hon.
DeleteYes to the jammy dress, and it looks absolutely amazing with those incredible boots. I'm hearing you on the yanking down thing, though. How annoying. I'm sure it'll be better worn unlayered, in Spring/Summer. I did not want to go to work either, and that happens a lot lately. Must be the season, I guess. Oh, if we could only hide under a down comforter until Spring! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Ann! Arg, I hate yanking on my clothing - I should have known better, but it will be great in summer. I really do want to hide! Such a plan...
DeleteI love all the items a lot. Too bad they cannot go together. In spring/summer you will have so much fun with this dress though. Now you have to find another in between for the boots and the coat.

I will, it'll be a great jammy dress for summer. I will definitely find something else to go with the boots and the coat. Thanks, Greetje!
DeleteJust catching up with your recent posts after a bad bout of flu. Looks like you've been having a wonderful time -loved the blue hair and the grey/silver gown! Your red dress is very pretty - it has a sheen in the pictures but doesn't look actually sparkly. And the boots! Oh the boots!
ReplyDeleteHi, Nana, I hope you are feeling better! Yeah, you can only see the sparkles on the dress when you're up close. I know, aren't the boots amazing? Thank you!
DeleteAh but in spring you Will love the dress! It s perfect with those pockets.
ReplyDeleteI will love it when it's warmer - I love a sleeved light dress in hot weather! Thanks, Nancy!
Deletelovely dress, its color and texture are fab and it has Pockets!, and it looks even more lovely with those boots!. Sorry that it rides up when walking!, so annoying!
ReplyDeleteLove all the fab jewelry too!
besos
I loved everything but the riding up part, gah! Thank you, my dear!
DeleteLove a great POW of colour and some fancy-schmancy boots
ReplyDeleteMe too! Pow! Thanks, Shelley!
DeleteGah! Don't you just hate that skirt riding up thing? When that happens I'm usually so fed up that the item goes straight into the recycle pile. Sometimes it's easily remedied with the right slip (of which I know you have many), but they have to be just the right length don't they?
ReplyDeleteOh, god yes, it drives me insane! I'll often toss an item that does that too often. I know, I should have worn my short black slip. Next time!
DeleteVa-vaboom ! Wow the dress looks fabulous but the boots are just out of this planet!!!
ReplyDeleteI know, aren't they incredible? thanks, Lorena!
