We're definitely starting to see signs of spring everywhere. Let's call it Pre-Spring, since we're technically still nearly a month away from the spring equinox
Multiple people in my office today were wearing bright colours or spring pastels - my influence is obviously starting to rub off on them!- Blazer - Emporio Armani, vintage 90s, thrifted; last worn here in November 2019 with autumn sunset colours
- Blouse - Le Chateau, consignment; purchased here for $16.98
- Skirt - Talbots, thrifted; last seen here in November 2019 with matchy mauves
- Shoes - History Sandy, Fluevog, consignment; first worn here in November 2019 with Boss pants
- Coat (below) - Auckie Sanft, vintage 60s, vintage fair; last seen here earlier this month
Another vintage 90s blazer from my closet, this is Emporio Armani, actually made in Italy.
It's that same pearly grey as yesterday's Etch-a-Sketch skirt, so they may have to be worn as a "suit" at some point.
I used to loathe pastels. And pink! And now I have pink hair. Who'd have thunk it?
This lovely lavender skirt is a woven mohair - it's very fuzzy.
I wore the blazer done up all day - this new-to-me blouse's ruffles filled the wide neckline well.
I took the blazer off a couple of times (hot flashes) - if you're new to my blog, yes, I have tattoos and lots of 'em.
I do factor in my ink when I buy something sleeveless, to make sure that the patterns work with my tattoos.
Jacket open, although I never wore it this way.
I preferred the lock-and-load look.
Outerwear - I'm blurry because I was talking to Vizzini, who dashed through the corner of the picture while the timer was beeping.
It's still chilly in the mornings, but my winter coats' days are numbered.
- Silk scarf - vintage, thrifted
- Gloves - Danier Leather
The stuff:
As promised, my feet got flats today. These were lovely for zooming around the office. More florals!
Delicate bling:
I'm not really a delicate jewelry kind of person, but every so often I like it.
- Necklace/earrings - Plum, c. 2010
- Amethyst/gold ring - Frances Jewelers, Dad's, c. 1965
- Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence, Italy
Vizzini and I had some cuddles while I was getting ready. First, we sat on the benches.
"Why is the deck door not open? It's sunny!" |
He's been quite cranky that it's light and/or sunny out, and yet the temperatures remain in the single digits.
"I acquiesce to your excellent petting, Woman." |
Aw, my little bear.
Beautiful colour/pattern combinations; very elegant. I love the new blouse.
ReplyDeleteI'm very jealous of your spring weather. We are presently receiving a dump of snow that is expected to accumulate to 20 cm overnight. The only good thing about tomorrow will be that I retired in January and won't have to commute in all the mess.
Thanks so much, Nana!
DeleteIt's been really changeable here - it makes it hard to get dressed. I hope that snow goes away soon for you!
I'm already doing spring colors, too!! We've had Red Robins already-- crazy! Love the blazer and fuzzy purple skirt!
ReplyDeleteNo robins here yet. Thanks, Becky!
DeleteWith a mild Winter, it feels like early Spring here, too. Speaking of hair-color, I'm sorely tempted to dye my hair a crazy color (like pink) but then remember I have to work at my straight job. Some day I will. I also want to try "temporary" coloring but worry it won't go away as quickly as the box says it will and then, again, work...
ReplyDeleteNice, that sounds lovely for you. Ha! Go for it, Ally! Or maybe wait till you're more retired! Temporary will fade out over a few weeks, quicker on white hair than pre-coloured.
DeleteYou look the very essence of Spring, Sheila! Great to see that insanely fabulous flamingo coat making an appearance and your newly cut hair looks fabulous with the tailored blazer. Hooray for inspiring your colleagues to brighten up their wardrobes!
ReplyDeleteNo spring here, it's barely zero degrees here and it's snowing - argggh!
Frank must have read your post as he's demanded cuddles this morning, I've been rolling around the rug with him! xxxx
Thanks so much, Vix! I love that coat and will try to squeeze out a few more wearings of it. I love that my outfits can inspire people.
DeleteArg, sending you some warmer temps! Aw, Frank sounds lovely.
Such a lovely outfit to welcome spring! I'm glad it's warming up for you! it's still quite hot and humid here and I kind of expect it to continue into autumn that way! :(
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Mica! I hope things cool down for you heading into autumn.
DeleteSeriously lacking in Spring weather here in Belgium - it actually snowed today - your outfit definitely put a spring in my step. I'm loving all incarnations of your outfit, worn with or without the blazer. The lavender skirt is such a gorgeous colours, and I adore that frilly floral blouse. And always great to see the fuzzy flamingo coat, which is worth having chilly mornings for. xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat is up with that weather?? Thank you so much, Ann! I really liked all the soft pastel colours in this outfit.
DeleteWhat a lovely Spring outfit with such delicate colours; pearl grey, lavender etc. The shoes are ace and look incredibly comfy!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Sheila!
xxx
Thank you, Vronni! The shoes were heavenly. Happy weekend, my dear!
DeleteThat Armani blazer is so beautiful and I love how you paired it with that skirt. Lovely shoes as well. Fab accessories. You look very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe're starting to notice the arrival of Spring here as well.
It has a beautiful woven texture to it too, Ivana. Thank you so much! Aw.
DeleteHooray for spring!
That's a very nice blouse and it works so well with the blazer. I didn't like pastels either. But I can appreciate them more.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy! Funny how our tastes can make a 180!
DeleteSuch an elegantly beautiful outfit! That top is wonderfully lovely, feminine, sweet, and springtime-y.
ReplyDelete♥ Autumn
I felt very springy in it. Thanks, Autumn!
DeleteYou do look very Spring-like! We have had some glorious sunshine the last couple of days but we're still in the single digit temperatures. Sylvester has been lying in the patches of sun on the kitchen floor.
ReplyDeleteIt's barely been cracking 2 digits here, but at least it's not as bitterly cold and rainy and windy as it's been. No sun spots here yet for Mr. Vizzini.
