Classy Leather Pants for Work

I always like to get a few wears a season out of my favourite closet items - it's a pleasure to wear them.
A favourite jacket, and my favourite leather pants of the three pairs I own. I always get a kick out of wearing leather pants for work - my WW group loved them.

  • Jacket - Etro Milano, vintage 90s, consignment; last seen here in March 2017
  • White shirt - no label, thrifted; last worn here last week with not-a-dress
  • Leather pants - Gap, F00, vintage, Vancouver - last seen here (3rd outfit) for a casual party in November 2017
  • Shoes - Coffee Sumatra, Fluevog; last worn here in October 2017 with pearls and Gookey
  • Coat (below) - Danier Leather, thrifted; last seen here last week

Don't worry, I'm not turning into one of those white shirt ladies - I just wanted to show off the jacket and the pants more.
I always feel like a rockstar in these leather pants - I've had them for nearly 7 years and love them. Check out the first time I wore them here and the story I found in the pocket.

The jacket is spectacularly well-made. I love chatting fashion with one of my older Russian coworkers (his grandmother made costumes for the Russian ballet!), and he said, "You can tell the quality of a jacket in the shoulders."
I'd agree with that - these are slightly padded but hit just right.

Outerwear - it was warm today! I roasted walking to work - I carried my coat on the way to my WW meeting.
I stole L's vintage gold scarf - it has black birds on it. I bought it for him as a gift - I think it was $1-2 in the WIN store.

  • Scarf - thrifted, L's
  • Gloves - Parkhurst

The stuff:
In addition to my pants and jacket, these shoes are a 7-year-old favourite. Yesterday's booties are the same family (Coffee), also from 2011.

Elaborate bling:
I liked doing a tie-like necklace with the blouse buttoned up, and how it showcased this lovely 1920s necklace that L bought me many years ago.

  • Necklace - vintage 1920s, gift from L
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence, Italy
  • Amber ring - c.1997

  5. Love this on you! I often read here that you walk to and from work (or maybe to mass transit?) how do you keep your shoes so nice? I'm thinking you must have some walking shoes to change to? Anyway, love this!

    1. Thank you, Amie! I'll cover the shoe thing with my next work post! I never wear my shoes outside if I can help it - I walk to/from work in my Doc Martens.

  6. These are indeed gorgeous leather pants. I I agree with your coworker that the quality of a jacket can very well be seen in the way the shoulder pads are. You are looking fabulous as always. Have a wonderful week ahead!

  7. Although you're not a big white shirt wearer, you're right that it lets the pants and jacket shince! :) This is a lovely outfit.

  10. Such a beautiful jacket! I got rid of all my leather pants as I had outgrown the waist on them; it was a definitely a sad day. Since then, I haven't found a pair that fits me well, so perhaps my leather pants days are behind me. Yours are obviously still going strong!
