Y'all will forgive my brevity. I'm working 10-11 hour days right now for the office move, and I am barely able to write my blog every day, and respond to comments; as soon as we're done with this move, I'll be back to visiting your blogs again. I promise! I miss you guys!
I wore my power colour for emotional support - this gorgeous goldenrod yellow! And it worked - despite all the chaos around me, I was in pretty good spirits all day.- Blouse - Planet, consignment; last worn here in March 2017 with sequins
- Skirt - no label, thrifted; last seen here in October 2017 with another blouse
- Shoes - Design Lab; purchased here for ten cents!
- Coat (below) - T Tahari, thrifted; last seen here in January on Mt. Washington
I've had this leopard blouse for years - it's slightly sheer, and is a beautiful quality. I usually remember that I have to wear a camisole under it. Yup, check, did that. This cami is a rust colour, to go with the rusty-pinky tone of the shoes.
This wool goldenrod yellow skirt is fabulous. So yellow!
I do love a skirt that makes the bum look good.
On a side note, don't worry, I'm not out of a job with this move - our office is just relocating to a bigger, newer space. But it's a lot of work, and as the main admin, all those fiddly bits have to be done by me. And things go wrong (as things do). Stay frosty, I remind myself.
Outerwear - speaking of frosty, I'm trying to stay chill (mentally) but warm (physically). Dang, it's cold!
I'm so glad I bought this puffer!
- Beret - consignment
- Scarf - gift from L
- Gloves - Parkhurst
The stuff:
First wearing of these lovely leather 10 cent shoes! They were awesome and comfy. I just tucked the non-pompomed lace into itself, and voila! One pom per foot.
Gold bling:
Not real gold, just pretend.
- Earrings - Plum
- Chain/leather bracelet - thrifted
- Gold bracelet - Lia Sophia, thrifted
- Amber ring - c. 1996
glad that you could 'stay frosty' through all the stressful situations and glad that you could feel better wearing your fabulous yellow&leopard outfit!, sometimes wearing a favorite color is so supportive! , I love your skirt, your shoes, love your accessorizing!. You rock, lady!

I tried, and the yellow did help. Thanks, hon!
DeleteI love these shoes on you - what a great find! :) I really like your yellow skirt too. I was admiring a mustard maxi skirt in the opshop earlier in the week. I think I did the right thing leaving it behind, as I have a lot of maxi skirts, but I don't have any yellow ones!
ReplyDeleteHoping you get through the next few days before the move - don't stress about it, you can catch up on blogs when things are calmer :)
Thank you - not bad for ten cents. It's hard to resist having a skirt in every colour, but it's better to have quality pieces, IMO. Thanks, Mica, I am trying not to stress (too much).
DeleteSometimes work life is overwhelming. I wish that were not true for most of us, but it is! "Just keep breathing!" I remind myself when that happens (quoting Gimli in the second Lord of the Rings movie, as he tries to keep up with the longer legged Aragorn and Legolas!) Moving is a bear, whether it is for work or personal life.
ReplyDeleteYou have engaged in the smartest antidote already: wearing power colors and clothes. I always try to do that when work is in a stressful phase.
Good luck to you, Sheila, and if you have to skip a day or two of posting this week, we'll understand!
It's really messed up right now, that's for sure. Good advice, thanks, Linda! I love LOTR! I need more power clothes - I'm running out! Thanks so much, I appreciate it.
DeleteDon't you worry about visiting blogs, take your time and look after yourself!
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow skirt with the animal print and yes, your bum does look fantastic. Those shoes are fab, love the block heel. xxx
Thanks, Vix - it's going to be rough for a while, and I appreciate everyone who visits, and want to reciprocate.
DeleteAw, thanks!
Working 10-11 hour days sounds gruelling. I don't know how you do it. Or maybe I do: by dressing in some of your favourite clothes! The skirt is such a delicious yellow and it's especially fabulous teamed with your leopard blouse! Keep your head cool and your body warm, and don't worry about visiting other blogs. You need to think of yourself first! xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's wearing me down, quickly - I have to keep wearing things that make me feel really good. Thanks, Ann! I love the combo of leopard with a bright solid. I promise to take care of myself.
DeleteHaving been through two office moves, I know how stressful they are, especially for the admin person that is in charge of the move. As you put it, stay frosty, and wear power colours!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think sometimes they just don't realize everything that has to happen so that it goes smoothly. Sigh. Thanks, Shelley!
DeleteThis is a fabulous outfit, Sheila! Your new shoes are awesome! I love the colour and style. I hope that you are managing to get some "you" time during this exhausting and stressful time. Good luck with the rest of the move, Sheila. I hope Vizzini is giving you extra kitty kisses at the moment! ;) XXX
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sasha! I appreciate the good vibes and kitty love.
DeleteYou look electric in this golden rod yellow. I absolutely love this outfit. The combination of this vivid color and the leopard is wonderfully intense. I also adore the lace up shoes. Please do not overwork yourself.

Thank you, Elle! Yellow is one of my favourite colours. It's been a tough couple of weeks...
DeleteOf course, I'm working backwards through your posts. Your office always seems to be moving. Hahaha. Or I just think so because you have two locations. Are you now all in one place? I suppose I'll have to keep reading back to find out. Lemon yellow for the win!
ReplyDeleteYes, we're all in one place now, surprise! Thank you!
DeleteYou look so polished for an office move !
ReplyDeleteThat bright skirt was the right choice and I love the shoes. I have seen this lace up style around and have yet to try on a pair as I was not sure on how they would look, but they loo fab-
That's part of my job! I was still dealing with clients and visitors to the office. Thank you! I liked these chunky shoes - I wasn't sure either.
DeleteI so agree with you about that yellow skirt - it looks fab and the rear view is peachy perfect baby! Love the pom-poms too.
ReplyDeleteI'm just playing catch up today in chronological(sp?) order for a change, so no point in wishing you good luck with the move - I can see you survived.
Anna x
Ha, thanks, Anna! The rear view always matters! Phew, no spoilers for you!
