Just as my cold (or whatever it was) seems to be waning, I have come down with my February allergies. The streets here are lined with beech trees, and all we need are a few warmer days for them to start spewing pollen all over the place.
Guh, I can't breathe. After the billionth sneeze this morning at work, I popped a Reactine for some relief. Better. Now I just have to suck it up and go to the dentist.- Cardigan - Theory, thrifted; purchased here in January for $6.00
- Dress - Talbots, consignment; last worn here with a beaded cardigan in December 2017
- Boots - Matisse, consignment; last seen here (2nd outfit) in December 2017 with my Christmas tree skirt
- Coat (below) - Denny Rose, consignment; last worn here in January
I built the outfit around this fabulous new-to-me belt that I bought on the weekend. After being "off" belts for a while, I'm now back on the belt bandwagon, and wanting to wear them more. Good thing, as I have quite a collection.
I'd forgotten about this lovely wool Theory cardigan that I picked up back in January - I'd steamed it and hung it on the back of one of our task chairs, where it promptly faded from my memory, even though it was right there in front of my face!
The dress is a favourite, full of swoosh and swirl.
It has two pockets in the skirt, and the cardigan has two pockets. Look out, I'm doing the Pocket Quadruple!
Outerwear - a little overcast and drizzly today. I bused to the dentist for my 7-month check-up, then walked home in the grey misty droplets.
It's not that cold, so just a wee fur scarf and my wool gloves and I'm good.
- Fur scarf - Danier, thrifted
- Gloves - Parkhurst
But wait, what is this? Could it be? The elusive Pocket Sextuple?
This is my "I hate being sick" face |
The stuff:
These boots are so comfy, I walked to work in them, then home from the dentist.
Tan and brass bling:
The belt worked well - it's very heavy and I was aware of it all day. The metal mesh lining was initially cold, but warmed to my body temperature. It's like chain mail on my waist!
- Belt - Sand Castle USA, thrifted - first wear, was $14.95
- Frida cuff - thrifted
- Poe cuff - Jezebel Charms, gift from L
- Wood/acrylic picture ring - consignment
- Spinner ring - Twang & Pearl
- Earrings - thrifted
Oh no! I hope you get some relief from it all soon Sheila! A cold, allergies and then the dentist are not a happy day. Pockets are though, I didn't think I've ever worn so many pockets in an outfit before, but of course now I'm curious to try count next time I'm wearing something with pockets! Pocket-less dress today.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mica - when it rains, it pours, eh? I laughed when I realized how many pockets I had on!
DeleteThat's no good, Sheila! Hope you feel better soon. I love the way you've styled your red dress with that cardi and fab belt! Love the tan and brass bling and the boots too. XXX
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sasha, I'll get there.
DeleteIt's only a matter of time and I'll be sneezing too. Just reading about beech pollen is making my nose itch. But I'm glad to see that neither your allergies nor your impending visit to the dentist is affecting your amazing style. What a fabulous dress: swooshy AND pockets! I love how you styled it with that cardi and your new belt. Only two pockets for me today ... xxx
ReplyDeleteGah, the pollen here is just awful. Thanks so much, Ann!
DeleteOh, those coat pockets in the colour-block seam! So glorious! Wishing you better soonest.
ReplyDeleteI know, aren't they fabulous? Thanks, Radostin!
DeleteThat coat with that dress. Ooooh, deadly good. AND with six pockets in total. Too bad we don't have six hand sometimes to help out with the multitasking, but then I guess I'd need three brains, one for each pair. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI need to get to the dentist too. Guh.
So many pockets! You're right, I need more hands. Dentists, eee...
Deletelots of fabulousness and six pockets! woww!! And such an awesome color combo, love how your coat matches everything!, and your boots! You totally rock (once more!)
ReplyDeletebesos
I know - so many pockets! Thank you so much, Monica!
DeleteThis is so matchy matchy and fabulous at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI recently came across a Theory garment (the brand makes amazing stuff) on sale but... it was too tight :(
You know I love my matchy-matchy! I can't help it. I used to have a Theory blue wool wrap skirt - I loved it.
DeleteLove you sick face! So sorry you've been ill, but can only imagine that you must be on the mend by now (hopefully). You and I could share dentist stories for a hour or so, but let's not bother.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see that wonderful coat again my dear - it's so classy or do I mean klassy?
Anna x
Thank you so much, dear Anna! I'm sure we could go on for hours about our teeth, but let's not, eh? Thank you! It's a classy coat on a klassy gal??
DeleteSorry to hear about the cold, and the allergies. I'm convinced there is something in the air in my office that I'm allergic to, as I will sneeze multiple times in a row and then end up congested. Only happens at work! Love the swishy red frock.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shelley! That is weird about your office!
DeleteLove your style, lovely outfits! Kisses
