I always like to get a few wears a season out of my favourite closet items - it's a pleasure to wear them.
- Jacket - Etro Milano, vintage 90s, consignment; last seen here in March 2017
- White shirt - no label, thrifted; last worn here last week with not-a-dress
- Leather pants - Gap, F00, vintage, Vancouver - last seen here (3rd outfit) for a casual party in November 2017
- Shoes - Coffee Sumatra, Fluevog; last worn here in October 2017 with pearls and Gookey
- Coat (below) - Danier Leather, thrifted; last seen here last week
here and the story I found in the pocket.
The jacket is spectacularly well-made. I love chatting fashion with one of my older Russian coworkers (his grandmother made costumes for the Russian ballet!), and he said, "You can tell the quality of a jacket in the shoulders."
Outerwear - it was warm today! I roasted walking to work - I carried my coat on the way to my WW meeting.
- Scarf - thrifted, L's
- Gloves - Parkhurst
Yesterday's booties are the same family (Coffee), also from 2011.
- Necklace - vintage 1920s, gift from L
- Earrings - thrifted
- Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence, Italy
- Amber ring - c.1997
mwahaha, you're not 'turning into one of those white shirt ladies'! hurrah for that!. I love your 20's necklace over a buttoned up shirt, and your fabulous jacket, because both of them enhance that rock'n'roll vibe!.ReplyDelete
You totally rock those pants and those shoes!! and fab bling!!
You're looking ready to tackle whatever the day brings, Sheila! Your leather pants are such a great colour and I love the story. I always think it's fun finding things like that, it's like travelling in a time machine. Your necklace is stunning and I am very much in love with your shoes! xxxReplyDelete
Oh, I'm gettin' there, Ann! Thanks for checking back on the story - I just love when a piece has a little bit of history like that. Thanks so much!Delete
You look fab in those leather pants, Sheila! I love those shoes, too! Hope you have a nice and relaxing weekend to get over your cold/flu/allergy thingy! Rest up! ;) XXXReplyDelete
Thanks, Sasha! It's been a wonderful long weekend!Delete
How very smart you look, Sheila! And more fabulous shoes. I think the necklace is wonderful - he has good taste does L!ReplyDelete
Have a great weekend!
Isn't it a lovely necklace, Veronica? He does have good taste! Thank you!Delete
Love this on you! I often read here that you walk to and from work (or maybe to mass transit?) how do you keep your shoes so nice? I'm thinking you must have some walking shoes to change to? Anyway, love this!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Amie! I'll cover the shoe thing with my next work post! I never wear my shoes outside if I can help it - I walk to/from work in my Doc Martens.Delete
These are indeed gorgeous leather pants. I I agree with your coworker that the quality of a jacket can very well be seen in the way the shoulder pads are. You are looking fabulous as always. Have a wonderful week ahead!ReplyDelete
I'm quite enamoured of them, thank you, Elle! I hope you have a great week as well.Delete
Although you're not a big white shirt wearer, you're right that it lets the pants and jacket shince! :) This is a lovely outfit.ReplyDelete
Thank you, Mica! I've come around to the usefulness of a white shirt.Delete
Love the outfit and the necklace does look good with the blouse buttoned up.ReplyDelete
Thank you, Polly! I was pleased at finding this way to wear the necklace.Delete
I love this masculine vibe today Sheila. The jacket is showcased to perfection with the white shirt and those leather pants are so sleek if not a tad sexy!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Anna! They are just a tad sexy, aren't they? Hee hee!Delete
Such a beautiful jacket! I got rid of all my leather pants as I had outgrown the waist on them; it was a definitely a sad day. Since then, I haven't found a pair that fits me well, so perhaps my leather pants days are behind me. Yours are obviously still going strong!ReplyDelete
Isn't it? Aw, that is sad about your leather pants - I hope my waist stays put!Delete
Those leather pants are always a good choice - and I KNOW you will NEVER turn into a white shirt lady ;)ReplyDelete
Never say never, ha ha!Delete
