Being sick has left me uninspired wardrobe-wise. I get all whiny. "I don't waaaaannnna pick an outfiiiiit..."
I try not whine around anyone other than L (saving the best for my sweetie, har har), but I whine in my head a lot. I also swear a lot in my head, but that's another story.- Sweater - Smart Set, consignment; first worn here (2nd outfit) in November 2017 with more green
- Pants - Piazza Sempione, thrifted; last seen here in October 2017 in a million dollar outfit
- Boots - Coffee Kope Tiam, Fluevog; last worn here in November 2017 as a ringmaster
- Coat (below) - BCBG Max Azria, thrifted; last seen here in January
It usually takes me 2-3 months to circle back around to items I've worn and liked - I usually spot them when I'm looking up the "last worn/seen here" links, and go, "Oh yeah, I should wear that again," or I'm idly standing in my closet pawing at things for inspiration. As one does.
This outfit was a bit of the latter. Whichever sweaters/pants are on the bottom of the pile are the next due to be worn, and as I was poking around I noticed the sparkly shoulder epaulets on this sweater. Fancy!
I have another sweater that is nearly the same colour as this one (pic here), and I keep thinking they're the same, so my eye had been passing over it.
I don't own many things that show this much of my back tattoos! |
Outerwear - one of my favourite looks. I'm very fond of long gloves - I find them romantic.
I was actually a little too warm in this today - it feels like warmer weather is coming. I could use the physical sunshine!
- Fur toque - Danier
- Fur scarf - Danier, thrifted
- Leather/cashmere gloves - Club Monaco, consignment
The stuff:
I remember when I bought these boots, at Gravity Pope in Vancouver back in 2011, when L were over for our anniversary - almost 7 years ago, exactly! I first wore them here, when I only had 5 pairs of Fluevogs! I have...erm...a few more pairs now.
Crystal bling:
I'm trying to get myself into a lovey mood, ready for Valentine's Day next week. Be ready for lots of sparkle and red and pink things over the next week!
- Amber ring - c. 1996
- Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence, Italy
- Earrings - Weiss, vintage 60s, vintage fair
Lovely shiny epaulettes, and fabulous pants, such an amazing texture and print! and I love particularly your outerwear, so fab gloves and cute coat!, and you look so elegant!

Thank you, my dear! It was a fun outfit to wear!
DeleteI'm sorry to hear you're still sick, but as always I'm impressed by the thought that goes into your outfits despite being unwell. I hope you feel better and get some energy soon! You definitely look like a million bucks, even if you don't feel like it!
ReplyDeleteI'm firmly into allergies now - hooray. I'm lucky to have a closet full of things that I love! Thanks, hon.
DeleteEven in sickness you possess an interest in fashion. The way style floats around in your head is something I admire.
ReplyDeleteI find solace in fashion - it really is my passion. I can't wait to hang out with you!
DeleteYou look absolutely fab, Sheila! You'd never guess you were unwell. I looove those paisley pants! ;) XXX
ReplyDeleteOh, you are too kind, thanks, Sasha!
DeleteI think I caught the bug too, as I was feeling too tired to do much when I got home yesterday. Hence my late comment. The sparkly epaulets make all the difference to the sweater, and I'm swooning over those magnificent paisley pants. Like you, I find solace in fashion. Dressing up does make one feel better! xxx
ReplyDeleteUgh, this time of the year is the worst! I wouldn't have bought the sweater without the epaulets - I need those special details. The pants are truly magnificent in person! That's cool that you get that same thing from fashion - thank you!
DeleteYes indeed these are fabulous paisley pants. What an extraordinary find! I also find something quite romantic about long leather gloves. Your winter white coat is beautiful. Also, I can relate to standing idly in one’s closet! Lol.
ReplyDeleteI too , am feeling a bit under the weather. It’s fashion week and I have missed a fair number of shows. Oh well. I am sure there is another blogger who can cover these adequately. Grateful for now.

They are pretty fabulous - I'm glad I bought them, although they were a little on the pricey side for thrift. Long gloves are the best! We've had so little sun here, I must have a tough of SAD right now.
DeleteGorgeous trousers and coat, I also like your red dress and tan boots outfit. Hope the check up was ok.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Polly. All good with my teeth right new, phew!
DeleteWorking backwards through your posts sweetie, so am not up to speed yet on your illness. In the meantime, you don't look in the least bit whiny - more sparkly and rather fabulous in those adorable trousers (gimme, gimme).

Ah, I was sick, now I'm not, whine whine! Thank you, Anna!
DeleteI have those moments... and lately I am just looking at what items I want to get rid of and what I can pair them with.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love the fabric of these pants, there is something with the width of the hem I am unsure about.
Yeah, they make my legs look a bit stumpy, especially with the boots. There's no stretch in them, though, so I wouldn't take them in. I still like 'em.
