Pink and Purple Mules

Back to one of my favourite colour combos today: pink and purple!
Anything that matches the hair is good by me.

  • Blouse - Violet + Claire, consignment; last seen here on a June weekend
  • Skirt - Evan Davies, vintage 80s, thrifted; last worn here in May with a cold shoulder
  • Shoes - Via Uno, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $19.95

I was very comfy in this outfit overall. Gotta love hot pink leather!
These shoes took a little getting used to - I probably took the stairs way more than I should and it was a bit too hectic of a day for wearing such a heel. I'm not used to wearing mules anymore! I do like the way they look on, though.

The stuff:
What do you think of mules (of any heel height)? Are you ready for them to come back? Do you hate the way they slap your heels?

This specific pair was fine (although high, as noted). They rubbed one toe a bit, and I think some of the internal toe-area leather inside is coming apart. I doubt they will last the summer in my wardrobe, sadly. Sometimes it's hard to tell with shoes. I adore the colour and the woven front, though. Also, pointy toes! My fave!

Matchy bling:
The blouse pulled it all together.

  • Belt - Plum
  • Earrings - Le Chateau
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

Mr. Vizzini was sulking this morning because I dared to lock him out on the deck when he woke me up at 5:20am.
"You're an evil woman."
I left that picture uncropped so you can see how he owns the room.

Such a face!
"I may never forgive you."
Then don't wake me up before it's time, little bud.
"I say when it's time for food."
And I say when it's time to get locked on the deck, you naughty monster.

  1. I've recently bought some pointy mules too and I think they're so elegant. We have to just remember to stop dashing about so much and try to walk like we have all the time in the world (which we don't at work, do we?) I love your colour co-ordination today with all of the purple and pink hues matching your hair. Not sure I'm so keen on that grumpy looking puss though!

    1. I like the look of them, but I'm still iffy on these specific ones. I might not keep them for long. Oh yes, I have all the time, ha! Thanks so much, Anna! Vizzini is generally grumpy, lol.

  2. Great color-combination. I feel proud when I see that my developing style is in even the smallest way reflected by your more-advanced fashion choices.

  3. I'm not a fan of mules but as I spend most of the year in thongs (flip flops) that do the same heel slap I'm wondering why I'm so opposed to them? ha!

Shame these might not last long for you but you're sure to enjoy them as long as you can :)

    1. I think it's one of those things that your eye has to get used to - mules haven't been "in style" for many years, so we've lost that view of them.

  4. Love the colors of hair plus blouse! And there was never any doubt as to who owned the room/house/neighborhood. Catz rule. xox

    1. Ha, I do love to match to my clothes! We just let Vizzini think he rules the place.

  5. I like this look and the way the skirt fits.
For mules... well. I gave away my last pair last year and although I know they're back and that there are so many options, the flip flop feel does not go away. Plus I don't like how my ankle looks from the back in them.

    1. It's an awesome skirt. I am still a bit on the fence with mules - I agree, that flip-flop foot slapping is annoying.
