Pouffy Leather, Purple Bookends and Baby Blue

Today, things in my world got done. I booked some holiday stuff, had things installed, and made a lot of loud noises. I banged nails into walls! 
And I did it in heels.


  • Top - Jones New York, vintage 90s, thrifted; last seen here in April with neutral and chartreuse
  • Skirt - Episode, thrifted; purchased here last weekend for $17.99
  • Shoes - Colour Joanne, Fluevogs; purchased here for $159.99 


I had really positive reaction to this outfit - that's the usual response to this classic "fit and flare" silhouette.
"I don't want to be in your stupid picture."
I loved LOVED this flared leather skirt - yes, leather! If it had pockets, it would be the most perfect ever, but it's pretty darned close, not to mention it has an elastic waistband and you pull it on. Hello!

This chiffon top is so delicate - it's fully lined, 100% silk, and covered front and back with beading. It's quite heavy. And it buttons up the back with opalescent shell buttons. Would you believe I thrifted it for $2.60?
"I'm not looking at you."
I wouldn't usually tuck this top in because of it's delicate nature, but the wide soft elastic on the inside of the "paper bag" waistline was very gentle on it.

The stuff:
These shoes were schtars! However, they were somewhat difficult for a full day's work - although the heel is very stable, it's a bit high. Low heels tomorrow!

Blue bling:
I knew I'd want this blue belt again someday - I've had it for about 8 years, and have worn it off and on. It goes so well with my vintage bracelet!

You guys really only see the cute side of Vizzini. This is what L and I have to deal with every day.

    A pouffy leather skirt - one of the most unexpected clothing items ever. It's delicious! Just the thing for doing labour. Glad you got to swing a hammer! And the top is dreamy in a Gatsby kind of way. Niiiice.

    Love the new skirt and shoes. The whole thing looks great! I have been trying to get beyond relying on fit and flare as I did for years, but always that is what garners the most positive comments.

      I know! And although I dress for myself and not others, I still like getting the compliments so...fit and flare! And look at all the comments. Huh. ;-P

    What a lovely outfit and the shoes are truly lovely. Can't see them going with a hammer and nails though....

    Re the books. Strangely enough I read less now I'm retired than I did when I was working! I'll bet you'll achieve your goal, this year, it's only July!

    Yes, this combo is so flattering for your hourglass figure Sheila so I'm not surprised you got lots of compliments. I love the soft rock look and would definitely wear this myself. Although you do have a better advantage with these beautiful shoes - I don't think I could rival these x
