Wonderful Whale Whimsy

I'm tired and still feeling woozy from yesterday's periodontist trip. Nap time!
I felt good in this whale sweater all day - yes, a sweater in July!

  • Sweater - C. Wonder, thrifted; purchased here for $14.00
  • Pants - Topshop, thrifted; last worn here in June with wings of the bat
  • Shoes - Aldo, thrifted; last seen here (3rd outfit) a few weeks ago for Winesday

I was tempted to wear it with the navy and orange skirt (this one), but it's a little too matchy (even for me!), so I went with the houndstooth pants. The whale is navy blue and the sweater is a coral-red-orange.
"There are people in the camera? Really?"
Vizzini was prowling around this morning so I grabbed him. He's been very good lately, so has been getting extra cuddles.
"Blech, you taste bad."
It was a bit hot walking home in this, but the sweater is a very thin cotton and breathed well.

The stuff:
Last wear of these shoes! They rubbed my toe and my heel today, and you know I don't suffer from my clothes for long. Here's how they've been worn in addition to today's outfit:

  • Here, as above in June (3rd outfit), with red and yellow and floral.
  • Here in March (4th outfit) with a jungle skirt and stripes.
  • Here in March again with leather pants and leopard.
  • Here in February with houndstooth and Gaga shoulders.
  • Here in February again with lilac grey.

I paid $8.50 for them so that brings them to...at 6 wears, $1.42 per wear. I'm good with that, time for them to go.

Simple bling:
Goodbye, pointy toes!

  • Bangle - local
  • Earrings - Plum

After I snagged Vizzini for his photo-op above, he was rolling around on the carpet while I made my breakfast.
"Come on, one more cuddle."
Okay, but just one!

  1. I used to have a pair of houndstooth trousers and every time I see yours I regret getting rid of them. I think this is a clever twist by adding the whale sweater to give a playful look today. Rubbing shoes are hell, so yes, do get rid, Sounds like you've already had value for money anyway x

    1. They're shockingly versatile! I didn't think they would be, but it was money well spent. Thanks, Anna!

  2. A whale! So cute. Don't get me started on dentists... I need to go every three months.

    1. Ugh, I hate the dentist - I go to the periodontist every 3 months, and the dentist every 8 months.

  4. I really like how you are able to mix up your houndstooth print trousers with so many things - I usually limit mine to wearing them to certain garments.
I absolutely love the C Wonder sweater oh and that Vi he is wayyy too spoiled.

    1. Thanks, Nicole! They were a bargain at $12.99 (I think, maybe less) in the thrift store!

  6. This is such a wonderfully charming outfit! I love (and would totally wear) it, sweet Shelia. I think that if one lives on an island in the Pacific, you simply must own a whale themed garment (or accessory) or two and this one certainly takes the uber cute cake there. :)

    1. Thank you, Jessica! I love the whale, and I am usually not a whimsy person.
