Knowing that today was going to drive me crazy piss me off vex me slightly, I dressed to feel good, both inside and out.
Requirements: lug 16 cartons of milk back to the office, be classy for the new hires this morning (including a new HR guy) while I give them the office tour, deal with over a dozen clients onsite over the course of the day. What's a gal to do? Wear a dress!
- Dress - All Saints, consignment; purchased here on the weekend for $29.00
- Shoes - Aldo, thrifted; last worn here in June with vintage silk and culottes
I wore a full navy blue vintage slip under the dress to cover up wide arm holes, deal with any sheerness and to minimize thigh display while running around. Success!
I really loved wearing this all day.
You just can't go wrong with a dress!
The stuff:
Easy flats. I also walked to and from our other office in these.
Silver and blue bling:
Assorted shiny things.
- Cuff - St. Paul's Cathedral gift shop
- Bangle - local
- Earrings - local
- Lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
Although I had to dash out early this morning, I still had time to take a couple of pictures of Vizzini.

"I may acquiesce to a cuddle later." |
Very professional outfit. I've never used the word "vex" and respect your language choices.
ReplyDeleteReally? I use "vex" all the time!
DeleteWow the All Saints dress totally rocks - I think its good to dress up on days you know that you're gonna have a tough one, it gives you that extra push.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lorena! I totally agree - knowing you look good works like armour!
DeleteThat dress is lovely on you. I hope that looking good helped you feel good, or at least a little better, about such a busy day.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mica! It did help!
DeleteLike Ally, I noticed the word vex. I love it! So passive aggressive in a good way. Southern ma'am speak :-D xo Jazzy Jack
ReplyDeleteJazzy Jack, I do declare - let's all make a pact to use "vex" more often.
DeleteOooo, that is a fantastic dress (I would definitely add that to my summer wardrobe). It has an unusual shape and the colour and fabric makes it perfect for a day when you need to be a bit more "dressed up". Good score Sheila!
ReplyDeleteI love "be classy for the new hires"!!!!
ReplyDeleteSome days a dress is the perfect answer. And yes, we ought to be using "vex" more often - I shall champion that too!
