I'm at that point in my wardrobe where I start looking at the backwards hangers* to see what I'm not wearing. Hello, camo-dress.
- Dress - Dept, thrifted; last seen here on my rock & roll football holiday to Nashville, TN back in October
- Boots - Kope Tiam Coffee, Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) for clomping around in an office supply store in yeti coat and leather pants in February
*What's this business? When I pull out my half-year wardrobe (either spring/summer or fall/winter), I hang everything up with the hangers backwards. As I wear things, I put them back with the hangers the "right" way. This lets me see what I'm not wearing. Easy-peasy.
In addition to the couple of wears in Seattle and Nashville in October 2015, I also wore it:
- In December 2014 here with blue legs and black shoes;
- In October 2014 with a mash of orange and tan.
So, not very much, really. I only paid $8.00 for it, and although I like it, it's time to go. I'm down to about $2.00 per wear, which I'm happy with.
- Belt - Fendi, thrifted
- Earrings - local
- Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
You gave the dress a great final wear, although it's a shame to see it go as it is a really lovely piece.ReplyDelete
It's strange as we are actually having a mini-heatwave here, it's going to get up to 28 in a couple days. Spring seems to be in a hurry to arrive!
I know...but I can't keep everything, and it's a polyester, and not that well made either. So...if I miss it, I can always look at the pictures, right?Delete
We are in the midst of a stinking hot July so no long sleeves and ankle boots here. I like the colour explosion in the dress pattern, but if you've tired of it, it might as well go off to a new home to make room for something new and wonderful. I'm purging a big pile of stuff (hopefully) in our neighbourhood yard sale this weekend.ReplyDelete
Ha, I'm in long sleeves again today, too. It's a great dress, and I'm sure it will go to a good home. I won't miss it. Good for you for selling some stuff off - I'd be at that sale!Delete
I rly like the colorful camo print!! Your hanger system is a super good idea.ReplyDelete
I like it, but it seems lately these days its about getting rid of the unworn, unwanted, unflattering... Go Sheila!ReplyDelete
Oh and I cannot get over that espectacular Fendi belt.
Oh, all my days are like that - I'm always on the lookout for things that have worn out their welcome. I know, the belt, right??Delete
If that dress were a couple of inches longer I'd be on the scrounge for it, but I fancy it would be too short for me - I don't do knees! However, it's got all the right colours and did look fab. We're still having a heatwave here with more to come seemingly, so no boots for me currently.ReplyDelete
I've worn a long slip over it to lengthen it, but it's not too bad, lengthwise. The heat is back here finally!Delete
I love this outfit on you! But, if it has to go... Thanks for the great hint re the hangers. I'll implement it in my own closet. xxReplyDelete
Thank you, Elizabeth! The hanger trick really works!Delete
