Green Jungle and Yellow Desmonds

Okay, let's get this wardrobe capsule going! Week 2 and here we are in green and black.
I am happy with this outfit. All of the pieces fit well and it feels like me.

  • Jacket - Danier Couture, consignment; last worn here in December 2015 with the reverse mullet skirt
  • Sweater - Dalkeith, thrifted, vintage 60s; last seen here in December 2015 with a very shiny skirt
  • Skirt - Mario Serrani, thrifted; first worn here in January with my pink pins
  • Trout shoes - Miista; last worn here (2nd outfit) on the weekend with a blue sweater skirt

I took the jacket off a couple of times and it still looked good - yay! These pieces are all keepers.
The novelty of the skirt's jungle print will probably wear off in a year or two, but for now, it's down to $3.00 per wear so I'm fine with it.

The stuff:
Shoes are shiny!

Green bling:
I love this vivid shade of green.

  • Earrings - Stella & Dot, consignment
  • Necklace - consignment

So. I periodically browse the FlueMarket (linking here 'cause I love!) for shoes that are in my size and for sale in my city (so I don't have to pay shipping). I have bought one pair from there (these ones (scroll down), that Vizzini later destroyed, and was happy with how that all went. The FlueMarket is only hosted by Fluevog - it's all about connecting people with a love for Fluevogs. You can pick men's or women's or accessories, and even sort by your size (they will show you up one and down one size, as their sizes are erratic).

I have these same shoes in orange waxed canvas (these, picture link) and in copper patent leather (these, picture link).
And, thanks to local awesome woman, Sara, now I have them in yellow waxed canvas! I kicked myself for not buying these in yellow when I bought the orange ones.

Sara and I met downtown today and I paid her ($70, very reasonable for shoes that have barely been worn!).
And now these wonderful Big Presence Desmonds have a new home with me.

I have a feeling they're going to get worn a lot.
I love them! Thanks, Sara!

  1. I really like this combination too! I need to look at that skirt on a real monitor because on my iPad screen it reads more Monet than jungle. Congrats on the sweet yellow shoes!

  6. I was so impressed with my black and white Fluevog boots that I ordered great green Fluevog pumps through Amazon, hoping I guessed the size right. I didn't. And they were very high and I couldn't wear them at all, so I had to send them back and it cost me quite a bit. So sorry I didn't try several pumps on in Vancouver so I would know my size.... These yellow ones are fantastic. Like your orange ones. You struck gold with this community.
And the outfit is ever so nice too.
