Taupe Leather, Orange and Purple

When you have a style mis-step, you just get right back on there. I've easily posted over 2,000 outfits in the last 7+ years, and I think my good outfits far outnumber the not-so-good.
Like this one! One of my coworkers (a man) said that I looked very "Mad Men" and "mod 60s" - it's so nice when someone who doesn't know anything about fashion nails what you were going for!

  • Sweater - Ralph Lauren, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $15.50
  • Dress - Truly; last seen here (2nd outfit) in January for an afternoon of drawing
  • Shoes - Fugitive, thrifted; last worn here in August with mod bark

This is the first time I've worn this dress without a belt, and the first time that I've worn it in the spring/summer season. I admit, I loved wearing it all day - many of my coworkers didn't actually realize it was leather until I told them.
First wear of the turtleneck sweater - ugh, I hate all that neck up in my face. However, I do like the look, and it's nice to have a warm neck.

The stuff:
Such mod, fun shoes!

Blurry bling:
First wear of my new-to-me vintage scarf.

  • Scarf - thrifted for $1.00
  • Cuff - thrifted
  • Stacking rings - thrifted
  • Ring with stone - Dad's, vintage 60s, Frances Jewelers
  • Earrings - gift from L, 5th anniversary

It's cool, grey and raining out...and I love it. It smells so fresh and clean, and it's great for all the wildfires and water conditions.

  1. I like it too - esp the scarf tied at your neck. So Peggy Olson, so fab. xox

  2. Yup, I see the mod happening here. I agree, it's great when someone spots the intent. Of course your good outfits far outnumber the bad - you're a pro at this!

  3. I love the smell of rain too …
and how amazing that someone came up to you and told you that you were channeling Mad Men with this outfit - which I think rocks.
Oh, and I tend to think my bad outfits outnumber my good ones ;)

  4. I love the taupe with the orange. Gorgeous color pairing.

I have the same problem with high necks. I can't stand them at all though.

Wish I had the weather to start transitioning to fall. We're still getting 95F days. Make sure to check the weather before you pack for your trip!

  5. The leather dress is wonderful and does the 60's very well. I don't like high necks but I wear them in the winter anyway just because it's cold.
