Mayor of Matchy-Town

It's gloomy and threatening to rain today - gotta wear my sunshine!
Last call, say your buh-byes to the jacket and shoes before I pack 'em away for 6 months.

  • Jacket - Holt Renfrew, thrifted; last seen here in May for my 2001st post
  • Sweater tank (under) - Dana Buchman, thrifted; last (not) seen here a couple of weeks ago under shiny metallic
  • Skirt - Bianca Nygard; last worn here in June with a denim peplum
  • Shoes - Grotesque; last seen here earlier this month with more mustard and grey

One of my coworkers today waved his hand up and down today and said, "I like all...this...the...yellow...here and there." I get a kick of how inarticulate some people are about fashion, but I appreciate the attempt!

"I'm the Mayor of Matchy-Town," I said. He looked totally confused, poor guy. I had to explain what "matchy" was.
I've had this skirt for a long time - I remember buying it back in 2010 (here). It's such a cool piece.

The stuff:
Funky shoes and a great necklace.

  • Necklace - Nygard, consignment

Tomorrow night is the opening of the Vintage Expo, followed by dinner with friends. I'll also be going out on Saturday night and Sunday is the big closet clean-out, so check back on Sunday - I plan to wear some fun outfits while I'm out and about!

Have an awesome weekend!

  1. Ooooh, you're going to have a blast at the vintage expo and find some really, really cool stuff! But sounds like you have other fun stuff planned too. Great! This is why you work so hard: to play so hard.
I love your mustard with those Grotesques. It started raining the minute I got home. heh. It was close.

  2. I love all of the yellow and grey together - the best way to do matchy-matchy.

I like when you do match, you don't look overdone. It's not always a look that's easy to master!

  5. Those are really great shoes. The entire outfit is beautiful. There's so much color and texture going on, and everything works with everything else.

  6. Hey Sweetie. I just put together an outfit with the purple pencil-skirt I bought in Vancouver. I remember your comment on it so I mention you in the post (which will go up today or tomorrow). Thanks again for your sage advice and support.

  7. Its funny how guys sometimes just want to compliment you but cannot get around it because they dont know how to address it - but I do love all the yellow up there and then on the shoes. A great farewell until next season!
