Likin' Lilacs

I went monochrome today - all purple, all the time!
Okay, maybe just a touch of orange. Just a little, mind you.

  • Jacket - Ralph Lauren, thrifted; first worn here with Boss earlier this month
  • Skirt - J. Crew, thrifted; last seen here (3rd outfit) in August for a casual weekend pink
  • Boots - Prepare Maps, Fluevog; last worn here in March with a purple jerkin

This is the last wearing of this wonderfully lilac patterned skirt. I had to wear a slip underneath it (it's lined, but with cotton) to keep it from clinging to the tights.
It was chilly this morning, but far too warm for everything but the skirt by afternoon! Good thing I only wore a thin camisole under the jacket!

The...boots!
I have Book Club in an hour, and these are a royal pain to take on and off, so that's me sitting in a chair, holding the camera way out and hoping my feet are in frame. It worked! Go, me!

I adore these boots, though. Such a fabulous colour. The leather laces (total cat-bait) are capped with orange wooden beads, which clatter around as I walk. You can hear me coming!

Orange bling:
Because the boots have a touch of orange (and so does the pattern in the skirt), I like to add pops of orange to the rest of the outfit. Orange and purple are one of my favourite colour combos.

  • Bigass flower - Le Chateau
  • Cuff - thrifted
  • Earrings - vintage fair

Speaking of vintage fairs, it's the giant Vintage Expo in town starting on Friday, and I'll be there! Say hi if you spot me!

  1. Wow, great outfit! A fabulous color combination. One of my favorite orange and (blank) combinations is orange and turquoise. Orange is such a useful color!

  5. WOW… that jacket is a true statement piece.
I have picked up several jackets or blazers that have many buttons and a similar flair to yours and then I never wear them and end up giving them away… and I still dont know why - because its a garment I continue to admire and purchase...

  6. Oh wow, you have awesome outfits! And the shoes are so unique and pretty, some give a bit of a "witch" look which I absolutely adore. Great job!
