Black and Silver, with a Touch of Red

Well, here we go, back to work - no more vacation time for me for a month.
It was so dark and gloomy this morning (and raining), that my stair picture turned out both blurry and pale blue, so I turned it fully black and white. Look at that shiny dress!

  • Dress - Grifflin Paris, consignment; purchased here for $15.00
  • Boots - Miz Mooz; last seen here in November with houndstooth

As suspected when I bought this dress, it's cheap. Cheaply made and cheaply constructed. It's sized large and I would guess that's why someone consigned it - it's more equivalent to a small/medium. It's also nearly see-through in certain lights (I'm wearing both a camisole and a half-slip with it).
But I liked the shape. I'll give it another wear or two before I pass it on.

The stuff:
Fab boots! My reds are more burgundy (or marsala?) than they appear.

  • Belt - Club Monaco, thrifted
  • Necklace - gift from blogger Tina many years ago
  • Studded cuff - homegrown vintage
  • Leather cuff - Guess, thrifted
  • Earrings - local and don't remember
So, you may have noticed a new button in my sidebar:

I'm so in! Must start planning...now!

  1. Cheap? Maybe. But, I still like it. Must be what you put WITH it that pumps it up!

  2. I'm stoked that you're coming to the meetup in Vancouver in July. I think we'll have so much fun we won't even remember it later. ?
It's good to keep one's dresses in perspective, a couple good wears and then move it along.
I like the black and white photo.

  4. The dress is a great shape on you, and looks fab with the red accessories, but don't cheap, poorly constructed clothes ultimately disappoint? There's no longevity, no becoming a wardrobe favourite - what a shame! xx

  5. The dress looks very cute on you, especially with the red belt, but it's only with you for a good time, not a long time!

I saw the news about the blogger meetup but flights to Vancouver are going to have to go waaay down in price for me to make it there, as much as I'd love to meet you and Mel!

  6. How cool you're attending a blogger meet up !
I like how you have styled this dress with the "new" old "marsala", oxblood, burgundy...
