Snow What? Gold, Red and Black

Zoiks, will this weather be DONE already? There's a reason why my stair picture here is tinted blue.
It's because it snowed all freaking day!

  • Jacket - Celia Chien, vintage 60s, thrifted; last seen here in August 2016, flaming on
  • Dress - The Limited, thrifted; last worn here in November 2016 with combat boots
  • Boots - BCBG Max Azria; last seen here a couple of weeks ago while being Darth Sheila
  • Coat (below) - Hilary Radley, thrifted
The view from the stairs.

Snowy castle!

I had originally not planned on wear anything under this red wool dress - at the last second I layered my long-sleeved Alice Cooper tour shirt under it. Just me and Alice, and no one was the wiser.
I am done with this jacket, despite its obvious charms. It's pretty limiting for matching with things, and I feel I've gotten enough wear out of it. I paid $26.95 for it and wore it 3 times, so even though $9/wear isn't the greatest, I still feel like that's not too bad.
I don't 100% love it, so better to move it along now, before things get resentful and we start blaming each other for the dishes not being done. Life is short.

Outerwear:
Oh, I was happy to wear all of this nice snuggly fur! The usual Danier toque/scarf and my wool long gloves (thrifted, vintage).

The stuff:
I can't wear these boots in any kind of weather - too slippy.

Black bling:
I liked the leopard belt with this ensemble.

  • Belt - Danier Leather, thrifted
  • Chain wrap - local
  • Wrap - Kipling, thrifted
  • Ear-balls - Dior

I did my nails last night, right before bed. I'm shocked that they came out perfect today.
This is Rimmel's "Potion" - I've had it for maybe 10 years? I came home and shoveled our condo's front sidewalk and the driveway, and still no chipping!

The view from a window:
I love when the trees are covered. Now, if I only didn't have to go out there, that would be perfect!

  1. Obvious charms - YES!! Reeeally? - you're done with the jacket? It's an amazing piece. Flick those sleeves around. But, sigh, I know what you say, if you're not feeling it, you're not feeling it. Yes, blue light district - it's here too. Rassin-frassin-succotas!! And today!! Thank goodness for snuggly, furry coats.

    1. It is...but it is SO limiting, and I feel like I've gotten my wears out of it. So done with this freakin' snow! Gah!

  3. The snow looks marvellous - but I don't like walking in it especially when it goes icy and slushy;yuck!

That is a very unusual jacket; the sleeves are lovely, but I know what you mean about it not going with much. Is it the colour or the style that makes it difficult do you think? I have a skirt I'm hard pushed to pair anything with - I must get it out and try an outfit post and ask for suggestions!

Beautiful dress and boots and accessories and nail polish is gorgeous. It does seem to last for ages; I have some red Nina Ricci nail polish picked up in a charity shop about 8 years ago and its still ok!

    1. I harbour great feelings of resentment and anger at people who do not shovel their walks - it's so dangerous! I like the snow when it's pristine, but then I want it gone.

Yeah, it's a really cool jacket - that's why I bought it - but it's both the colour (it's yellowy-chartreuse woven with red) and the style that make it tricky to wear with other things.

I love this polish colour - it's a nice soft red with a gold shimmer in it. I'm amazed at how long some of my polishes have lasted!

  5. And just as I was about to start raving about those sleeves... But hey, ya gotta love it or let it go! You're so right. It did you proud, right up to the last.
The snow looks awesome. My kids have only witnessed snow here on the island about 4 or 5 times in their whole lives. It's so mild here, and being an island the sea salt soon melts it all away even if we get the odd snowfall.
Hope you warm up soon x

    1. I bought the jacket because of the sleeves, but the colour and style are very limiting for me. The snow only LOOKS awesome - in reality, nope, nope, nope.
