More Silk: Blue Swirls

Woo, I made it! Friday is just around the corner, and I'm feelin' good.
I saved this dress for today, to wear to my WW meeting (and the shoes, of course).

  • Dress - Norah Noh, vintage 80s, thrifted; purchased here for $16.95
  • Shoes - Garden of Enjoyment Rita, Fluevog; last seen here in May 2015 with black and white stripes

It poured rain this morning, so I also wore a raincoat, but I was running late and didn't photograph it.

Here's the dress on its own, no belt.

I have one hand in a pocket, but this is just overall too droopy-looking for me. Gotta hike it up.
Belted, with sleeves shoved up. Much better! This dress was a delight to wear, but yes, I pits-ed it too, so in the wash it goes. I will report back on how this and yesterday's blouse came out after I wash them this weekend. Fingers crossed!
One of my coworkers noted how unusual it is to see a light dress with long sleeves. Yeah, I guess they just don't make lightweight dresses with sleeves so much anymore! I don't know why - it's not like there isn't a demand for it, am I right? I like my arms covered up in the office A/C.

The stuff:
I actually said, "Whoa!" out loud when I realized it's been over a year since I wore these shoes! To be fair, it was really hot last summer, and they are packed away for fall/winter, but still. They are fabulous on and much more comfy than you might think.

Silver bling:
Handy-dandy white leather belt and the usual silver accoutrements.

  • Belt - Esprit, vintage, thrifted
  • Solid cuff - thrifted
  • Cage cuff - Bauxo
  • Earrings - gift from Lise
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

It's gotten sunny out, but it's very windy, which agitates Vizzini.
"These trees are moving in an unauthorized way!"
Off he went on patrol.
"I have important things to do, Woman."
He takes his patrolling very seriously.

I'm out for dinner tomorrow night with my lovely husband, and have a few nice things planned for the weekend, so I'll be back on Sunday. Enjoy your weekend!

  2. That is a beautiful dress, I like how you styled it with a belt. Reminds me of a dress I used to have but donated. I think of it often!

Good luck with the machine washing, hope the blouse and dress come out good as new.

  5. I love the belted version of the dress. You have a great shape and without it you get lost in the dress.

  6. Hello honey. Sorry I've missed you lately. Have had a difficult month with my son being very ill. Managed to keep the blog going to have a sense of normality around the daily challenges. He's recovered and has moved back home now and I'm having the weekend away with my daughter so some shopping may be in the pipeline. Wishing you a lovely weekend x
