And just like that, whoosh! Today was over. I don't know where it went.
However, I do know that I had a lot of fun with "Shoes My Husband Hates" week (even though a bunch of you are not on Team Heeled Sneaker!).- Jacket - Alison Wonderland, consignment; last worn here in March 2015(!) with lock and key pants
- Skirt - Pierre Cardin, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here in August 2015 with a bunch of colours
- Shoes - Half-Truth Tanya, Fluevog; last worn here (3rd outfit, after the VFF Gala pics) in February with a Betsey Johnson strapless dress
I can't believe it's been over a year since I wore this jacket! I love the slim fit of it, and it's really more like a top (I'm wearing a plain black camisole under it) than a jacket. It was so hot last year that many of my jackets didn't get worn over the spring/summer. Thank goodness it's a little cooler this year.
I completely adore this wonderful handmade (in France!) vintage silk Pierre Cardin pencil skirt. This is only its 3rd wearing since I bought it a year and a half ago in Vancouver. I must make an effort to wear it more.
The stuff:
So, I'm not going to do a series of "Shoes My Husband Loves" but as I mentioned before I started the SMHH week last week, I let L pick out a pair of palate-cleansers after all those Crimes Against Shoemanity, and these are what he picked. I was surprised at these, but happy - yay, kitten heels are my favourite!
Here's what he had to say:
At last the bad shoe week is over! Here we have a pair of Fluevogs I absolutely love. Everything about these shoes is perfection, from the incredibly vibrant green, to the way it artfully fades to a darker shade. The buckles and straps are narrow and refined, and the pointed toe and narrow sole are trim and sexy. This is a shoe that says “classy” and “edgy” with equal fervour. Would I like these beauties to be four inch heels? I’m a man, so of course I would. But these shoes are so stylish and elegant even a low kitten heel appeals. These shoes renew my faith in shoemanity.
Greenest bling:
I'm still kicking myself for not buying these shoes in the purple!
- Necklace - Mom's vintage 50s
- Earrings - Stella and Dot
They are lovely shoes to kick off the week with! I like your jacket / top, it's really nice with the red skirt.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mica! The jacket is made here in Victoria, which I find very cool.
DeleteI loved reading L's commentary, esp about the 4 inch heels. Sandy would say precisely the same : > Adore the fitted jacket, and silk (Francais!) skirt. xox

I know, he's such a guy, right?
DeleteHaha "the shoes renew his faith in humanity " !!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great skirt, I have not seen many Pierre Cardin - if any - in my thrifts.
Did I tell you I found THREE places I can buy second hand ? Even some vintage ?!
In "shoemanity"! I know, I've only ever seen men's ties from this era by Pierre Cardin - it might be older than 80s, actually. The details of it are totally gorgeous.
DeleteWow, that's awesome! Have fun with those!
Love, love the green shoes! Love the jacket and the red spotty skirt - altogether fab.

Thank you, Veronica!
DeleteWe love L!
ReplyDelete...and love Alison Wonderland, too: that jacket is terrific.
I think John F's shoes always speak for themselves, no?
I actually have 2 jackets by that company, what a score. Yup, he's awesome!
DeleteI'm definitely with L on these! Totally fabulous shoes - great colour, sexy and not to high heel- brilliant! That's a sweet little jacket too. It looks like it might even fit me...

What stunningly awesome shoes! I share your husband's adoration of them big time (and love your green triangle bead necklace, too).
ReplyDeleteHave a marvelous weekend!

I wish my husband would take as much interest in shoes as L did in that utterly beautiful, lyric description of those shoes! I love the colour of them!
ReplyDeleteHe's a great writer - if you're into music, which I think you are, you should check out his blog. The link is in my Fun Websites tab.
