Pink Silk and Black Culottes

With Canada Day on Friday, it's very hard to motivate this week. I want my long weekend now!
Freshly purpled hair
I'll settle for getting through Monday.

  • Blouse - Adrianna Pappell, vintage 80s, thrifted; purchased here for $9.95
  • Culottes - Jones New York, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here with Shoes My Husband Hates
  • Shoes - Aldo, thrifted; first worn here a few weeks ago for brunch

I loved wearing this top all day - I'm so happy that I was able to steam it! No more ironing for me!
I went with plain black culottes, letting the bright pink silk take the centre stage.

But yes, I am wearing culottes, not a skirt.
I can go a little lower than that, but then I'd need help getting back up.

The stuff:
Wonderful flat shoes for a Monday.

Simple bling:
Nothing too taxing.

  • Cuff - Mom's, vintage 70s
  • Ear-balls - Dior
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

  1. Utterly amazing, Sheila. Somehow even better (if possible?) than Friday's pink paisley. Brava, bella!

  2. That shirt is beautiful and great with your culottes! :) Yey for being able to use your steamer and not having to iron again - that does appeal to me, I hate ironing, ha!

  6. Oh my oh my oh my. That top! Your hair! Culottes! Yay. And a long weekend on its way. Pretty sweet. I love a steamer. Mine liked to tip over until O thought of a clever way to keep it stable - which I promptly forgot how to do and so did he. Does it remind you of Fairweather? I worked next door at Dalmys.

    1. My steamer seems to be pretty stable so far - I have it on carpet and Vizzini has not tried to attack it. Yes, we used one at Fairweather! That's where I first encountered steamers - although the crappy industrial version we had was always blowing up because we would forget to shut it off. I checked very carefully to make sure mine had an auto-shut-off! Aw, Dalmy's! So classy!

  9. I had a steamer for a few glorious months and then it started leaking all over the place (I purchased it in a silent auction at work) and I had to get rid of it. I loved it (I hate ironing) so I'm hoping I can find another one somewhere.

Very cool top, and I am sooo digging the cullottes (split skirt, palazzo pants, whatever).

  10. Awesomely huge culottes my lovely! The top is cute and beautifully fitted for your tiny frame. And now I have steamer envy. I'd never thought of having one, but it sounds like I need one.
