Casual Friday - Button Down and Wacky Legs

Ah, Friday. Can't beat it.

It was blustery and rainy all day, and I had a haircut after work. Knowing I'd have to walk home (20 minutes, mostly uphill), I planned accordingly.
Yee haw! My favourite boots. I borrowed another pair of L's cufflinks to do this shirt, keeping it conservative on top so that I could pull off these wacky tights:
I love them, but they do require a certain amount of restraint - I'll eventually wear them with more leg showing...maybe like this:
Yeah...no. Firstly, put some pants on, young lady!

I only wore the hat when outdoors, but my hair has just been awful lately - thank goodness I got it cut!

Today is my day with my niece, Zoe! She just turned 10 yesterday, so we are spending the entire day together. We're going for lunch at the local diner, having a manicure, shopping and going to a rooftop restaurant...and she knows none of this! I'm so excited.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hat (Delux), shirt (Club Monaco, consignment), vest (Esprit), skirt (Bebe Sport, swap), tights (Trasparenze), boots (Cougar).

  1. You look so cute! I love the tights, but totally understand needing to keep to boots and skirts with them. Have a great time with your niece, I love spending time with mine too. Although, my niece is almost 21 now.

  2. I love the fact that you borrowed your hubby's cuff links to jazz up your shirt! The Esprit vest looks so cozy - was it a recent purchase?

The tights are FUN - I admire your courage at wearing things that could be a tad over the top but pulling them off so well.

  3. I really like the juxtoposition of the tights with an otherwise conservative outfit. You are really getting to me with all the great hosiery lately. And I love the hat!

  4. Thanks, Alixon - yeah, I have to tone them down a bit for work, even on a casual day. I'm just getting to know my nieces - we had a blast!

    Thanks, FA!

    Wendy, thanks!

Thanks, Kasmira! It hid my awful hair.

Kari, he borrows my rings all the time, so it's only fair! No, I got the Esprit vest about 2 years ago. I just don't wear it much. I do love the tights - heh.

Thanks, Tina! Hosiery is a great (and relatively cheap) way to freshen up one's wardrobe.

  6. Thanks, Kristen!

Ha, Audi, I promise to always wear pants. No Lady Gaga here!
