Purple Tigers and Kermit Shoes

Our summer weather has finally arrived - it's a balmy 21 degrees now, and it feels SO nice.
I wore my own sunshine today - y'know, just in case.

  • Blouse - Guess, consignment, Sidney; last worn here in June 2021 with purple leather
  • Skirt - Diane von Furstenberg, consignment; last seen here in April with a profesh black blazer
  • Shoes - Poetic License; last worn here in August 2021 with pink and plaid

I've had this yellow blouse for five years, and it always makes the cut.
I mean, the print is purple tigers! No boring prints in my closet.

Pairing it with this double-side-slit skirt was a no-brainer.
It's a thick stretch wool - and DVF! - so classy!

The blouse is likely from the early 00s.
It's cut for ultra-low cut jeans (remember those??).

Masked up.
To match my green shoes!

Incognito.
No one will know it's me.

Accoutrements:
Scarf of the day.

  • Scarf - vintage, thrifted
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
These shoes are an "oldie but goodie" - they're over 10 years old! They are wool too, and those dots are raised.

Green bling:
The blouse print has a touch of green in it, so I rolled with that in my accessories.

  • Necklace - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Shark cuff - Tom Binns, 2012, consignment
  • Earrings - Stella & Dot, consignment, Vancouver
  • Silver/aventurine ring - consignment
  • Silver/malachite ring - consignment
  • Glass bangle - thrifted
  • Hinged enamel bangles - thrifted

And the shark cuff goes thematically with the tigers - sharp teeth!

  1. My Bloglovin account doesn't work anymore; when I go to it I get an error message. Which explains my inexcusable absence. I regret missing your multiple posts. Your outfits, your jewelry, your style continue to entertain and impress me. I need to find another way to keep track of the blogs I follow. I don't want to miss any of your posts!

  2. I started smiling as soon as I read your post title, and it didn't disappear until long after I've read your post. What a fabulous outfit, Sheila! That blouse is yet another stunner, and picking up the green in its print was genius. As was the link between the shark cuff and the tiger print! xxx

  3. I could not wait for this post to load, as I could not imagine what Kermit shoes would look like. These shoes remind me of a pair I bought to go with a suit I made for my eldest daughter's wedding. I kept trying to find an avocado green suit and could not. Finally, a week before the wedding, I found the perfect fabric, (it was sofa fabric) and a Vogue pattern that consequently had 69 (not a typo) pieces. I made the suit and then covered buttons and glued jewels on to match the shoes. Wore it twice, once to wedding and then to a Christmas party, where a Judges wife came up and asked me where I had purchased the suit. I told her I made it and she offered to buy it as she had several Christmas bashes to go to that year. We wore the same size shoes, and clothes, so I sold it for $400.

  4. Kermit only wishes he had those shoes!!! They are fabulous! I love putting purple and green together...it's only natural, right? This whole outfit is just amazing...that blouse is just amazing in every way! I didn't even give the shark cuff and the tiger print a second thought, but I love the way you think!!

    1. Totally natural - if you can find it in nature, then it'll work on your body in an outfit. Thanks!

    1. They're immediately recognizable, aren't they? Yes, I've seen the actual Kermit ones - those are not my style.

  6. That is such a beautiful top and it's a perfect pairing with the purple skirt! :) (all the alliteration!) I rarely wear purple and yellow together and I don't know why - I should!
