This is the latter. Pattern + plain + fun shoes. Easy-peasy!
- Menagerie blouse - vintage shop, Vancouver; first seen here in March with brown cords
- Skirt - J Studio, vintage 90s, thrifted; last worn here in June 2021 with yellow bookends
- Shoes - Effortless Vivian, Fluevog; last seen here in June with a new-to-me mini
I'm still working through all the unworn stuff that tends to be my "when it's warm" wear.
You might not think a pink wool skirt would be appropriate for the middle of summer (and I know some of you are struggling with VERY hot temps right now). But in Victoria - most of the time! - it's perfect.
This animal/bug/fantasy creature printed blouse is getting another wearing in its proper season.

And my lovely vintage wool skirt is one of three Perfect Pink Skirts in my closet.
This one's my Perfect Pink Pencil. The others are my recent Versace linen wrap skirt, and my pink leather pencil skirt, which is still awaiting its spring/summer outing.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteBeautiful, chic, elegant. Wow, that is not the usual quirky Sheila. But don't worry, I love it and it is never good to be predictable, right?
ReplyDeleteGreetje
Quirky takes energy - I'm at a low ebb right now, so falling back on old formulas. Thanks, Greetje!
DeleteYou're welcome haha.
DeleteA gorgeous go-to outfit, Sheila, although I do agree with Greetje that it isn't your usual quirky Sheila style. Loving the bright pink skirt and the unusual print of the blouse, which is a bit quirky after all, I guess. Coveting those shoes! xxx
ReplyDeleteNot every outfit is quirky, Ann! Thank you!
DeleteLove it! Pink and blue!
ReplyDeleteIt's a winning combo, thanks, Kim.
DeleteYour vintage menagerie print blouse complements your Perfect Pink Pencil skirt beautifully!
ReplyDeletePretty OOTD! I love that shade of pink!!!!!!
Thanks!
DeleteThat menagerie blouse really is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could figure out the brand - it feels like very good quality.
DeleteOnly you could put light pink and blue together and make them badass! The blouse is amazing on its own, but with the skirt, it's fabulous!! I know exactly what you mean when you need to cheer yourself up...put on something amazing! Love this look, Sheila!!

Thanks, Marsha!
DeleteYou make pink and blue work! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI really like all these pieces together and I like easy outfit formulas like this too! I've noticed I have a lot of printed pieces in my wardrobe so I've tried to focus more on adding some basic block colour pieces, and of course shopping less so I can make use of all the pretty printed pieces I have, haha! I'd love a collection of colourful skirts for work - I did thrift a skirt just before the pandemic and working from home and ended up donating it back - haven't worn a pencil skirt in years sadly!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mica! When I'm not feeling inspired, I fall back on these formulas - I know they always work! Nope, if pencil skirts don't fit your life, there's no point in keeping them!
