Burnt Orange and Brocade Boots

I woke up this morning feeling a little sniffly...I am hoping I don't have what L had over the weekend.
My go-to when feeling low is a big ol' punch of colour and an easy dress - what a shocker!

Edit, next day: Yup, I'm sick and I'm home from work.
  • Dress - no label, thrifted; last worn here in October 2019 with a bunch of colours
  • Boots - Spring Step L'Artiste; purchased here on the weekend for $150 in gift cards
  • Leather trenchcoat - vintage 70s, thrifted; last seen here on Friday

Burnt orange is such a great colour.
Of course, I had to wear these new boots! They are just so spectacular, and had many admirers all day at work.

I liked how the orange dress mirrored the red bits in the brocade.
Trying not to cough...
 Geared up for torrential rains.
I actually tucked all of my hair into the beret - it kept my hair totally dry (the beret is wool).

  • Beret - consignment
  • Scarf - V. Fraas, thrifted
  • Gloves - Cejon, thrifted

The stuff:
These were fabulous to wear all day - very comfy, not slippery on the stairs or vinyl flooring. Awesome.

Gold bling:
A few gold pieces to go with the gold in the brocade - this is the first wearing of this vintage Robert Larin necklace that I got from L as a Christmas gift this year.

  • Necklace - Robert Larin, vintage 60s/70s, gift from L
  • Cuff - Butler Fifth Avenue Collection, consignment
  • Earrings - gift from Mom

  5. That gorgeous orange dress was the perfect companion for those boots's first outing. That Robert Larin pendant is utterly stunning and indeed reminds me of some of the sculptures in our wonderful park. I hope those sniffles are on their way out soon! xxx

  12. When it comes to footwear you cannot be beaten. What a spectacular boots, I love them. And you paired them so well with this burnt orange dress. Indeed picking up the red bits in the boots, elegant, showing off your good figure and letting the boots take centre stage. Well done. I like the gold necklace with it as well.
I can fully understand all the compliments you got.

  14. OMG Sheila, those boots! I feel slightly sick with envy however. Belly ache and gnawing pains of sheer envy may well test our friendship. Of course you deserve them, but honestly it pains me terribly to say something nice :(
