New Grey and Matching Neutral Florals

Today's outfit had a lot of love at work, from random people in the elevator, to my colleagues.
"From top to toe!" exclaimed a drywaller, after I complimented her purple hair.

  • Jacket - Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, consignment; purchased here for $129.99
  • Dress - Comrags, thrifted; last seen here in May with a magenta blazer
  • Shoes - Elegant Conversations Kendra, Fluevog; last worn here in February with double drape

It all started with this lovely dress, which I fondly refer to as my "metal" dress (it's 8% metal content). I love the grey/cream neutral floral pattern - this dress has zero stretch, but it fits me really well.
The top is more snug, and there's lots of sitting/striding room in the bottom. No pockets, though - boo!

The metal content means the seams are a bit scratchy (it's not lined), so I usually wear a vintage full slip under it to fix it.
See? Slip hanging out. I'm not classy, but I also wasn't itchy.

New jacket alert! Look how awesome!
I was going to save wearing this gorgeous jacket until after my closet swap-over, but when I pulled the dress out last night to get my outfit all ready, the jacket was the identical shade of grey in the dress.

It's not like I had a choice! I had to wear it.
It hangs so well.

See how it doesn't button up? It just perfectly lays open.
It has an exquisite drape, without all that flappy business of a regular blazer.

Power shoulders, but no pads there, just great structure.
I really loved wearing it all day. I thought I might take it off if I got too warm in the office, but *sigh* fall is here.

The stuff:
I have worn these shoes with this dress before - they are also neutral florals! So matchy! These are lovely, but that's a pretty high heel. I took the elevator between floors all day. This is my first wearing of them this season.

Pearl bling:
I almost always wear pearls with this dress.

  • Necklace - Aldo Accessories
  • Bracelet - vintage fair
  • Earrings - thrifted

  1. what a beautiful dress! Grey dresses are perfectly neutral and offer ton of options, even the printed kind. The Vivian Westwood jacket you paired it with is fabulous. I also really like your neutral floral shoes. The pearls go well with everything. You look gorgeous in this!
