Jammie Paisley

It's no secret that I am a fan of "jammie dresses" aka dresses that you can just throw on and instantly look great but also feel like you're wearing pajamas.
This dress is one of those. No thinking, lots of compliments.

  • Dress - Etro, vintage 90s, thrifted; last worn here in August 2017 with blue and silver shoes
  • Cami - not tracked
  • Shoes - Big Presence Earhart, Fluevog; last seen here earlier this month for Pride Week
  • Jacket (below) - Jacob, thrifted; last worn here in May with blue and McQueen

I work with a lot of Canadians who are from India, and they love all the colour that I wear on a daily basis. I'm a big fan of traditional Indian clothing - it's so colourful!
They used to be shy about commenting on my clothes, but now they come to my desk to see what I'm wearing.

I love showing off my clothes!
 Especially to an appreciative audience.

More colour in my outerwear.
 Acid yellow goes perfectly.

The stuff:
I've done different shoes with this dress every single time I've worn it. I was thrilled at how well these went with all the colours in it.

Circular bling:
My "jello shot" necklace always gets a few "wow"s too - not bad for a $5.00 purchase a couple of years ago.

  • Necklace - Banana Republic, consignment
  • Ear-balls - Dior, consignment
  • Amber ring - c. 1996
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

    1. Thanks, Sasha! It's a great fabric, but then Etro is known for their fabrics and prints (especially paisley).

  4. That fabulous “ jammie’ dress looks like Etro and is divine! I also love to wear easy dresses , so that in one easy motion I am dressed in a flash. I also appreciate traditional Indian attire, the colorful vibrance makes my eyes sing.
I can see why they love your wardrobe!
That Jell-O shot necklace is stunners and I adore the two toned shoes!
A triple plus to this OOTD ! A+++++

    1. Good eye, Elle - it IS Etro! Would you believe it was only $6.00 in a thrift store?? I love being able to get dressed by only wearing one garment. Indian clothes are gorgeous - I see a lot of them in thrift stores.

Aw, thank you! High praise. :)

  5. I've got a couple of "jammie dresses" myself: at least, that's what I'll be calling them from now on! Yours has such a fabulous print, and those divine shoes (I'm swooning every time I see them!) and jelly shot necklace are just perfect with it. I love colourful Indian attire: they're certainly not afraid of colour as a lot of Western people seem to be! xxx

  7. While I don't have many dresses that feel like pjs, they are incredibly comfortable and I love them. This is such a pretty one and I like the colours with the accessories! :) I can see why your outfits would be admired in person as much as they are online - you dress so well.

    1. They're the best! Thank you so much - it's a fun pattern to play with. I think that people really appreciate that I play so much with colour and pattern. Thank you, Mica!

  8. You are certainly bright today Sheila !
I have to admit the dresses I own that feel like pjs when worn are not THIS flattering.

  9. When I see you in this delightful "Jammy" dress and cardigan I realize how little colour I wear in the summer. I love this outfit on you, but for some reason I feel like I'd never wear it. My closet is a sea of black and grey linen in the summer, and sometimes it feels rather drab (which is not a word I would use to describe myself).

    1. I don't think of you as drab, ever! I'm drawn to more colour in the summer, for sure.
