I seem to be dealing with a lot of very short dresses and very long tops (I hear the cool kids call them "tunics") these days.
Today's outfit features another tunic, this black one that is about to go into the giveaway pile.- Top - Allison Wonderland, thrifted; last seen here in August 2017 with a fluffy skirt
- Skirt - Alex Colman, vintage, consignment; last worn here 2nd outfit in June 2017 to the Ulti field
- Shoes - Seychelles; last seen here in June with space pants
- Jacket (below) - Club Monaco, thrifted; last worn here last week
This is a black top, so yes, a very useful piece. But it ITCHES like crazy, all along the seams. It's either the thread or the fabric itself. I've tried camis and slips, but itchy.
I felt bad about removing it from my closet until I saw that I only paid $5 for it. I've worn it only 3 times since I bought it just over a year ago. I'm good with that - so off to someone else it goes.
The skirt is pretty cool, isn't it?
Slits up both sides means I can take huge strides in it, if I feel like it.
The pattern is lovely - and it's very thick cotton, fully lined.
Must work on finding another black top, though. I think there might be a few in the thrift shops!
Outerwear - purely for sun coverage.
It's hot out. HOT. Like, 30 degrees.
The stuff:
I left little sparkles all over the house, and all around my desk at work. Awesome.
Gold bling:
Just a few of my favourite pieces.
- Necklace - vintage, thrifted
- Bracelet - Lia Sophia, thrifted
- Earrings - consignment, Vancouver
- Gold/amethyst ring - c. 1965, Frances Jewelers, Dad's
- Amber ring - c. 1996
How was your Monday?
Bye itchy top. Loving the skirt and very into your new bangs. I am just now growing mine out after a pretty long run over the last few years. Never stop switching it up lol
ReplyDeleteYup, off it goes! Thank you so much, Becky! Growing them out is a pain, but yes! to switching it up! I'll never stagnate.
DeleteThis skirt is fantastic, Sheila! The pattern is gorgeous. I love how you've accessorised too! Fabulous! Love your new fringe too! ;) XXX
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sasha! This skirt is one of my favourites.
DeleteI love your earrings! It's a shame that black top is so uncomfortable to wear, but it's great that you managed to get a few wears from it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful skirt you're wearing too. Enjoy your warmer weather!
I have to remind myself that I don't have to keep items that don't work perfectly - I don't pay that much for them to begin with!
DeleteThanks, Mica!
Loving that skirt but ouch to the itchy top, life's too short for irritating clothes! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vix. Yup, it's outta here!
DeleteI don't think I've done "long over long" but it looks so good, almost formal !
ReplyDeleteI have done it with a long sweater and leather skirt in a much dressier look, here: http://sheilaephemera.blogspot.com/2013/09/weekend-wrap-up-shopping-spree-and.html (scroll down).
DeleteItchy clothes drive me crazy, even just reading about your itchy top is making me feel all itchy! In the giveaway pile it is! The skirt is gorgeous, though, that print is utterly fabulous. I'm loving your bling too, especially the earrings and that amazing pendant. xxx
ReplyDeleteYup, and if it had been a tag or just one area, I might have kept it, but it was every single seam! Must be the actual fabric.
DeleteThanks, Ann! I love the dress. The earrings are a long-time fave.
I thought at first glance that your necklace was one of those over-sized gangster rapper chains, which would be a different look for you (I don't mean that it doesn't look nice)!
ReplyDeleteWe're due another spell of 30C temperatures in southern England in the next few days, so it'll be horribly humid again, especially at night.
Ha! I actually have a bigass gansta chain necklace, Helen! I should dig it out and wear it. :)
DeleteYikes, I hope your weather lets up soon!
Too bad about the itchy tunic, but the skirt is marvelous!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
