Pink Leopard

Back to work today, like I never left.
My company had its quarterly meeting tonight after work, so I wore something bright. It's also late so I'll be accordingly brief.

  • Blouse - Karl Lagerfeld, thrifted; purchased here for $7.50
  • Skirt - J Studio, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here in June 2017 with lingonberry
  • Shoes - Lucky Brand, consignment, Powell River; purchased here on the weekend for $38.00
  • Jacket (below) - Club Monaco, thrifted; last worn here

I wanted to wear this new-to-me blouse, and I'm still working on getting through all my not-yet-worn items for the spring/summer season, so matched it with this skirt.
Leopard goes so well with bright colours, I think.

The blouse was great - I sweated in it walking home, carrying groceries, so in the wash it goes.
The skirt is a summer-weight wool, fully lined, made in Vancouver.

And it has pockets!
The linen jacket is strictly for sun coverage.

The stuff:
I also got in a first wearing of these new-to-me (and since they were new with tags, NEW) cork wedges. They are quite tight over the toes, but I have very skinny toes, so it worked for me. They were quite comfortable and secure on my feet. I dislike wobbly shoes.

Expected bling:
Needed a belt, needed some more pink to go with the skirt, that led to other choices.

  • Belt - Nygard
  • Cuff - handmade in Nashville, TN
  • Earrings - consignment, Vancouver
  • Amethyst/gold ring - Frances Jewelers, c. 1965, Dad's
  • Amber ring - c. 1995

Vizzini, how are you feeling about all this hot weather we've been having?
"I like warm tiles on my tum."
And there you have it, straight from the cat's mouth.

    1. Thanks, Rebecca! It's such a bright fun pink, isn't it?

  2. Love this outfit on you! It's like summer in cloth form.

  3. it's a lovely color combo and leopard counts as a neutral in my book!, so it looks fabulous with your pink skirt and perfect accessories!, so lovely earrings! and your shoes!
    you rock!

    1. I agree! I love leopard (always have). Thank you, Monica!

  4. I love the leopard with the pink! I'm pleased those shoes had a good first wear too :) They look a bit high in the close up so it's nice that they are comfortable despite it! :)

    1. Thank you, Mica! The shoes were good, and I can see them loosening up a bit on the toes over time. The wedge heel felt quite secure (it's about a 2.5-3" net heel).

  5. It's a combination I would never have thought of and would not of tried so this was very useful. You look lovely in your outfit and I really like it with the jacket. too.

Hope your week is going well...

    1. Leopard + any bright or saturated colour is a really good combination. Thank you so much, my dear!

  6. Isn't it awful that it always feels as if you've never left when returning from a holiday, be it a short or a long one? But at least you did it in style, wearing that amazing combination of pink and leopard. Well done! Your new wedges are awesome too. Glad to hear they are comfortable as well. Tried to buy a pair of silver wedges in the sales today, but my size was sold out :-( Vizzini is looking quite chipper in spite of the heat. Phoebe, who is semi-long haired is suffering ... xxx

    1. It is! At least I have all the pictures and the memories of being away, but sad how quickly that fades back to "real life." The wedges will be an excellent summer shoe for a few seasons, I hope. Aw, poor Phoebe! Vizzini's been shedding like mad - we have to brush him nearly every night.

  7. For me, the star of that outfit is the wonderful tassle pair of earrings- they are so cool and a great colour and shape! x

    1. I agree! Without them, the outfit would be rather dull. Thanks, Kezzie!

  8. Hot pink and leopard, yes to that ! Adding metallic shoes and fringed earrings is genius!
Plus the shoes look so ocmfortable!

    1. Thank you, Elle! My tassel earrings are a favourite for many years now. The shoes are very comfy, hooray!

  9. I really like the bright shade with the leopard.
Here its been raining for 3 days in a row, its beginning to feel miserable.

    1. Same, thanks, Lorena. Oh, yuck, I hope it clears up!
