Hits and misses in today's outfit. The vest is a big ol' NOPE.
Love the colour, love that it's suede, but did not like it on.- Blouse - H&M, thrifted; last seen here in September 2017 with florals
- Vest - Danier Leather, vintage 80s, thrifted; purchased here for $38.00
- Pants - Noa Noa; last seen here in April with long layers
- Shoes - Nanette Lepore, thrifted; first worn here (2nd outfit) with my jumpsuit in April
Yeah, no.
This outfit felt good on, but I didn't LOVE the vest. I like the top a lot, and I adore the trousers, though.
70s wallpaper pattern for the win! How do you not love those pants? They went really well with the peach of the vest too.
A few snaps done up. Still not working for me. However, those pants! Pockets!
When my coworker Emily admired the outfit - and particularly the vest - I gave it to her at the end of the day. I tried to make the vest work, but it was in vain. And if I don't love something pretty quick, then poof! Gone!
The stuff:
These shoes were good on their second wear - I also don't love them, but I'll keep them around for the summer. Well, we'll see how they do in their next outfit. Shoes, you are on probation.
Matchy bling:
Peach in the earrings for the vest, gold in the bracelet and ring, and blue in the ring to go with the pants. Matchy!
- Bracelet - Lia Sophia, thrifted
- Earrings - vintage market
- Amber ring - c. 1996
- Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
I do like your trousers with their "wallpaper" pattern. I don't own any patterned trousers but I may well get some for the summer as I am wearing trousers far more than I used to
ReplyDeleteI love patterns, especially really bold ones. Go for it, Rebecca!
DeleteLove the pants--they look brocade-ish. Be gone peach vest lolol
ReplyDeleteTotally! Screw that vest!
DeleteLoving the wallpaper pants a lot.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like me, I often give away my gear if a friend loves it more than I do - it's good karma, you'll find something amazing next time you go shopping! xxx
I completely agree! I gave away a pair of pricey shoes recently and I loved seeing them on my coworker today! It's definitely good shopping karma.
DeleteI, too, adore those pants. Fabulous indeed. I loved the vest and thought it went beautifully with the full sleeved top and the fab pants and shoes, but as you say if you don't love it you don't want it taking up house room!
ReplyDeleteHope your week is going well.
I felt like it had potential when I tried it on, but once I wore it, I knew. Thanks, Vronni!
DeleteYour co-worker must have been thrilled! Well done, you, at least you know that your vest has gone to a good home! The brocade trousers are such a fantastic pair, I'm sure that they more than make up for the vest! xxx
ReplyDeleteShe was really happy, and yes, that's the best I can ask. The trousers make up for a lot!
DeleteHow brave to make that decision by the end of the day. I have to agree though as it didn't really add much to the outfit, but there again those trousers were indeed the shining star of the whole ensemble.
ReplyDeleteAnna x
I knew as soon as she admired it. Would I take it home and try to make another outfit? Or would I rather see her wearing it. I didn't even have to think about it.
DeleteAgreed, Anna, I LOVE these pants.
I do love your pants and top together but I agree, something about that vest doesn't look as good as I expected. What a shame as it seems like a lovely piece. It's good you could pass it on almost immediately! :)
ReplyDeleteHope your return to work after your break is continuing to go smoothly :)
Yes, same, Mica. I was really happy to be able to give it away to a good home.
DeleteIt's been good, actually. I got a really great break with my time off.
Passing the vest on to a colleague frees up a space for something marvelous to come into your closet! You have such an enviable collection of pants.
ReplyDeleteI may have found a few things this weekend...Thanks! I'm getting good at finding them now.
DeleteI've read the vest is now gone which I can totally understand. Sometimes when I am done with a garment I just want it out of sight.
ReplyDeleteI would have tried it with a belt over an all black look.
Yup, I did not like it on. I thought of a belt, but the snaps didn't do up over my chest - it didn't work.
