It's Monday, Wear a Dress

Oh, work, it's like I never left. I knew that it would be a gong show at work today, so I needed to not think at all about what I was wearing. When in doubt, wear a dress.
It was chilly this morning, and a thin wool-blend sweater dress and boots seemed like an excellent choice. I was proven wrong by afternoon.

  • Dress - Just Female, thrifted; purchased here for $18.00
  • Boots - Matisse, consignment; last seen here (4th/last outfit) in May with floral
  • Coat (below) - Lord & Taylor, thrifted; last worn here in May

This was a totally easy and comfy outfit to wear. It felt like pajamas in the office all day.
I wore a black camisole and a short half-slip under it just in case it was see-through. It wasn't, yay!

The best part of it is the back, which looks really nice in motion.
You can just see the top of my camisole there. This dress gets a B+ and goes into the fall/winter pile, ready for cooler weather.

Outerwear - sure, I needed a coat.
Floofy armour is what that is. My first day back was dealing with all the minor disasters that happen, but my vacation was so relaxing I was all chilled out about it, calm, cool and collected. I only had one "RAR!" moment! *pats self on back*

The stuff:
Easy boots! These were such a good purchase last year.

Sparkly bling:
Because the dress was so simple, it was perfect for this big statement necklace and lace/beaded cuff.

  • Necklace - All Saints, gift from Dominique
  • Cuff - locally made, Nashville
  • Earrings - thrifted

  4. Lovely outfit and the boots look so comfortable.

It's been too warm here to wear boots and I've packed mine away anyway.

    1. Thank you, Vronni! It's chilly enough in the mornings and in my office for this to work...for now. Coming home is rather warm!

  5. The dress is the perfect solution to this kind of day, and this one is excellent thanks to the back detailing. Can't believe that you're still in boots in June though!

    1. I know! I wish summer would get here already, but my part of the world really adheres to those seasons. It's still spring!

  6. The first day back to work after having time off is always a challenge. I love that dress but there's no way I could be wearing that outfit here. We're into the "25 degrees feels like 30 degrees" weather. It is supposed to feel like 40 degrees on Sunday and Monday, and I am not impressed. I haven't a clue what to wear.

    1. Isn't it? It would be way too hot for this dress now, just 6 days later!

  7. Yep, just keep your outfit simple if you know that what's ahead might not be. For a moment I thought you were missing a cuff and then i saw it was a removable cuff.

    1. Seems so commonsense, but amazing how we can forget that! Ha, fooled you on the cuff!
