Deja Shoes: Leopard and Wine

I promise I'm not going to whine about the weather in today's post. I may grumble, though. But *ahem* yes, we have an outfit to discuss.
All day I felt like I'd worn this outfit before, but a quick dig revealed that no, I had not. Close, though.

  • Top - Lord & Taylor; last seen here in January - beam me up, Spotty!
  • Skirt - Lui Jo (purchased in Florence, Italy); last worn here in November 2015 with shades of wine and mauve
  • Shoes - Tod's, thrifted; last seen here in September 2016 with the last of the green culottes
  • Coat (below) - Danier Leather, thrifted

I was thinking of this outfit, which is the first time I wore this top. Same top, tights and shoes. Deja shoes?

I had the hanger turned around on the skirt, indicating I'd worn it, but several searches on the blog, and nope, this is its first wearing this year! Shocking! It's a past-the-knee length on me, so I will usually wear a fairly high heel with it, so that I don't look like I'm camping in my clothes. I'm rather short at 5'4".

I felt great in this outfit today, although the only comments I had were on the skirt, and "Haven't seen those in a while" regarding the shoes (from Lesley, the only person I work with who knows Tod's).
But I felt good. That's the important part. My clothes should always make me feel good.

Outerwear:
My warm accoutrements: fur toque/scarf and leather gloves (all Danier). These are all soaking wet now.

Grumbling commencing! It rained all freakin' day today, in torrents. And it was cold. And it hailed on my very soggy walk to my WW meeting after work. However, the forecast (which is never wrong, ha) says we're going to get into double-digits next week! 10 degrees! Woot! Will spring finally arrive?

The stuff:
Real Tod's, thrifted for under $30. I cannot help it, I have to brag about it. Sorry. But...Tod's!

Brassy bling:
Including a leopard bracelet. Matchy!

  • Necklace - Nygard, consignment
  • Brass bracelet - Club Monaco
  • Leopard bracelet - J. Crew, thrifted
  • Earrings (mismatched) - gifts from L (I lost the other ones)

I realized this morning that there haven't been many pictures of Vizzini lately. I had the camera near me, and he was being a lovey-boy, so here you go.
"Get this mousie off my post. I have to watch the neighbourhood."
He came down (chirping and mrowping all the way) and we had a cuddle on the benches which are in the place of a dining room table.
"Oh yeah, right there, right behind the ear..."
I got this big-eye face while he was curled up on my lap.
"I lov--is that string on your camera edible?"
From lovey to bitey in 2 seconds.

  1. Given its latitude and general climate, I'd imagine Canadians have plenty of reason to gripe about the weather. I guess, in the face of that, you guys either decide to complain endlessly or not at all. Doesn't surprise me you're the stoic type!

    1. Well, Victoria is actually below most of the Canada/US border...what else would we talk about, if not the weather, ha ha!

  2. A cat who likes string and shoes laces - to eat! Vizzini you are just plain weird.

Great outfit and I love all your brassy bling and leopard bracelet; I have leopard earrings x 2 different pairs; I must wear them soon.

We've had spring and now its back to winter...

    Have a fab weekend.

  3. Sheila, I love that skirt, and those chic sandals look comfortable too. Vizini's eyes are a marvel!
Great look. The weather is ok to whine about, but after some snow today, the sun just came out! :)

    1. Thank you! The shoes are pretty good, for the height. I know, Mr. Bigeyes is so pretty.

  4. I remember when you first got those Tod's - I was envious then, still am! We have had weird weather here - snow, rain, winter, spring - it's been impossible to wear the right outerwear. So nice to see Vizzini - my Sylvester does the "big-eyed" face too.

  5. I'm so not a cat person, but that last shot of Vizzini is uber cute.

Yes, it's all about wearing what makes us feel good even though the masses don't give us the compliments we're due. I'm more and more able now to wear what I want without begging for reassurance from hubby or Polly that I look OK. Maybe I'm growing up at last!

This skirt of yours is similar to my black one from last week. I love your sandals too - have you tried them with ankle socks? Am toying with that idea myself.

    1. My cute boy. Too bad he's such a monster, hee hee.

It is! And even when I'm not hitting a home-run on an outfit, I feel good enough without having reassurances, as you say. Hmmm...I'm not really sold on the ankle socks with sandals look. I don't know if I can carry it off.
