Woo, what a day. I slightly overdid it on the Prosecco last night, so was feeling a little fuzzy today.
Keep calm and wear fabulous shoes.- Jacket - Ralph Lauren, thrifted; last worn here in January to see Dwight Yoakam
- Skirt - Bianca, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here in November 2016 with a once-worn blouse
- Shoes - Poetic Licence; last worn here with corporate purple in November 2016
- Coat (below) - Parkhurst, thrifted
Not a terribly exciting outfit, but I'm happy to get one more wear out of all 3 major players here: the velvet jacket, the wool skirt and the fab shoes. They will all be packed away for the warmer months.
I usually wear this jacket belted, but I didn't have time to dig out a belt this morning. *shrug* It's been a busy week.
Outerwear:
Putting my Danier purple gloves on. Those boots were made for walkin' - I wear them nearly every day.
The stuff:
So pretty! Bows! Colours!
Blurry bling:
Yup, that's bling.
- Earrings - don't remember
- Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
I did my nails on Tuesday night, keeping up with my self-care. I bought a new quick-dry base coat.
It dried quickly, as promised. The polish is another oldie - no idea how many years, but probably at least ten. This is a Rimmel one again, called "Torrid." Looks like a browny-plum to me! It's nice but it's scratched and the tips are rubbing off rather fast. I think I'll turf it.
One of the women I work with took this picture of my with my flowers from yesterday. The irises opened up overnight.
I'm going to be taking a break this weekend - goodness knows, I need it! - and will be back on Monday with tales of adventure! Have a great weekend!
I like the mix of texture sin your outfit, and that last photo of you with the flowers is beautiful - the photo, you and the flowers, ha!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break, looking forward to seeign your outfits when you get back to blogging :)
Thank you, Mica!
DeleteI love lilies, although they can be a bit potent! So sweet of L. to send them to work.
ReplyDeleteHelp me out here, Sheila. I have just acquired a leather vest/bodice sort of thing--secondhand for about US$25--scoop neck, nicely tailored princess seams, zipper up the front. It is technically a size too large, so there's room for a light layer underneath. I'm hoping I can incorporate it in some work outfits, layered over a top or dress.
Don't you have something like this? I've been poking around but can't find any of your outfits that show it.
Looking for "real-world" ideas. I actually grabbed the vest thinking of a mad max/steampunk costume for an upcoming party, but I like it so much I'd like to see if I can use it mixed with more tailored clothes for a bit of an edge, without too much va-va-voom. :-)
I just had another long tattoo session--maybe three more to go. Lots of color now! Bit weepy and sore today.
Very potent! I sent you an email replying to your query - I do have two tops like that, but haven't worn them in a long time. Your tattoo sounds like it's coming along! How exciting!
DeleteSuch fabulous shoes! I loved the jacket.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are wonderful - have a restful weekend!
xxxx
Thank you! Actually, it was very busy!
DeleteSuch a fab shot of you holding those lilies that just happen to match your hair. Have a fab time off from the blog and enjoy yourself sweetie x

It was Purple Day at work! Thanks, Anna!
DeleteI own or two Rimmel nail varnishes and they are the real thing, they dry fast, stay shiny and last long ;)
ReplyDeleteAs much as I like the combination here, the skirt seems a little big from behind not doing much for you. You have a marvellous figure here it gets a little lost.
I love Rimmel polishes usually, but this one is not very good.
DeleteThanks for your comment on the skirt - I still like it, and since it doesn't have a lot of stretch, I will probably keep it...for now. :)
