Two-Fer: Thursday Sheer Dots and Teal and Friday Fringe-O-Rama

Woo, it's the weekend! I'm about to go out for dinner (that outfit will be included in Sunday's wrap-up of the weekend), so let's see if I can get this post up in...30 minutes. And...go!
This is the replacement skirt for the silver polka-dot skirt here that I passed along.

  • Sweater - Dalkeith, vintage 60s, thrifted; last worn here in March with that silver dotty skirt
  • Skirt - Orenzo, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here in June with these same shoes
  • Shoes - Channi B; last worn here in August with green and some sheen

I prefer this skirt - I like the length, the better quality polyester weave, the gold dots (not regularly spaced) and the fact that it was made in Italy (not China). Also, my mother-in-law bought it for me, so aw...
I've done the lining "hem" (i.e. I raggedly hacked at it with scissors) on this one too, which you can sort of see.

The stuff:
Awesomely comfy shoes! These carried me through a very hectic day, followed by my WW meeting, followed by Book Club.

Pearly bling:
I'm having a pearl moment.

  • Necklace - Joe Fresh, thrifted
  • Earrings - thrifted

Book Club was late (wine! conversation! chocolate! cheese!), so no blogging last night, and I didn't even put an outfit together. For shame, Sheila.
My half-assed attempt at a last-minute outfit is not that bad. Could have been worse, could have been better.

  • Kimono thing - Design Lab; last seen here in January while fully fringed
  • T-shirt - Plum; last worn here (2nd outfit) in March with maxi plaid
  • Pants - Banana Republic, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $24.95
  • Shoes - Noa Noa, consignment; last seen here in August with double baby blues

I love this topper piece and wanted to wear it. I started there...hey, it goes with these new pants I bought. I loved wearing the pants - they are really stretchy, although you can't see the awesome texture/pattern of them in these shots (worth looking at the purchase link above so you can see the nice jacquard weave of them).
Sure! Then I need a top. Hmmm...a black one, yes?
Shiny top!
My "I don't want to go to work" slouch.

The stuff:
Comfy, easy shoes for running around. I had a mostly frustrating morning, but by afternoon I was all chill again. Yeah, let it go, first world problems, these things won't matter in a week, a month, a year. I am learning to be more chill instead of a spaz (although being a spaz comes naturally to me, hee hee).

Silver bling:
Much badassery in the bling department today.

  • Necklace - thrifted
  • Cage cuff - Bauxo
  • Bangle - local
  • Earrings - local
  • Red/silver ring - gift from Cindy
  • Shield ring - Nine West

We have a mostly relaxing weekend ahead with very few things on the schedule. L and I both need it. Vizzini, what about you? Plans?
"I have a strict napping schedule."
I think he has the right idea! A very happy weekend to you, my friends!

(And this whole post took less than 30 minutes to write, including uploading/editing my pictures - go, me! Off to dinner!)

  1. Hope you had a fun time at dinner! :)

I love your second outfit - you know I have a fondness for kimonos :) I think the red and black work nicely with the print on it too.

    1. We had a lovely dinner, thank you, Mica! Yes, this was fun to wear - I wish the print of the pants showed better in photos.

  2. A spotty skirt - how lovely and I love the green top and the fabulous shoes!

I also thought your trousers looked great - you can't beat a bit of texture on a pant. The kimono was cool and the silver necklace and shoes really set it all off.

Hope you have a very chilled weekend!

    1. Thank you, Veronica! The green sweater is one of my vintage treasures. Thanks, the trousers are taking a bit of getting used to.

I did! The post will be up next. :)

  3. The replacement spotty skirt is beautiful, a great length too. Your busy days really are busy aren't they? I feel a bit of a slob sometimes when I see how much you do after work - the most I do is slip into my pj's. Your half hearted outfit was fine, made all the more fine by that super little top. Wishing you a great week ahead x

    1. Thank you, Anna! I like it so much better than the silver/H&M version. Yes, my job is go-go-go, it never stops, and I'm run off my feet. I am in constant "react and take care of things" mode. I need those after-work things to unwind and relax! Thank you so much. Happy weekend to you!

  4. Both are great looks - I'd love to see that polka dot skirt with a white button down shirt.

    1. You'll never see that! I so rarely wear a white shirt with anything.

  5. You have some awesome shoes, Sheila! I'm in awe of your blogging stamina and wonder what inspires you and motivates you to keep up this pace? I did love the first short skirt but this long sheer one is absolutely beautiful (and yes, made in Italy is heaps better!). xx

    1. Thanks, Elizabeth. I'm not entirely sure why I blog at the pace I do (5+ posts a week). I guess because I CAN. My posts take maybe 30 minutes at the most (the weekend ones take 1-2 hours, depending on how much there is). Posting encourages me to be mindful about my weight (a big thing for me) and caring for myself; I love the feedback from all you lovely readers too! I do have it down to a reliable routine, so it feels like part of my day vs. a chore.

I agree, this skirt is better.

  6. Thanks for answering my questions, Sheila. You provide inspiration, fun, glamour, interesting fashion and otherwise knowledge and a vital social connection for me to you and your other fabulous readers. Thanks also for taking the time to reply to your readers, I really appreciate that too. xx

    1. Any time! Thanks for asking them! Aw, you're so nice... :)
